When will your Samsung Galaxy device receive Android 15-based One UI 7?

Samsung Galaxy users are eagerly awaiting the major One UI 7 update, based on Android 15. While Google and other manufacturers have already rolled out the latest OS, Samsung— one of the biggest players in the Android ecosystem—finds itself a step behind.
Samsung’s update process hasn’t been smooth this year. The company initially started a One UI 7 beta program in late 2024. After setbacks, Samsung now aims to roll out a stable update starting in April 2025. Here’s what we know so far about the timeline and what to expect.
One UI 7 Beta Rollout Timeline:
- Initial Beta Launch: The One UI 7 beta program began on December 5, 2024, starting with the Galaxy S24 series (S24, S24+, S24 Ultra) in select regions including the US, UK, Germany, South Korea, Poland, and India. This was the first wave, accessible via the Samsung Members app for eligible users.
- Beta Expansion (March 2025): On March 5, 2025, Samsung officially expanded the beta program to additional devices. The Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 joined the beta in countries like India, Korea, the UK, and the US starting that week. Later in March 2025, the beta will be extended to the Galaxy S23 series (S23, S23+, S23 Ultra), Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy A55.
Ongoing Beta Updates: For the Galaxy S24 series, multiple beta builds have been released: After the first beta released on December 5th, the company released several other betas, read below
- Beta 2: December 16, 2024
- Beta 3: January 6, 2025
- Beta 4: February 19, 2025 (followed by a hotfix on February 21, 2025)
Duration: The beta phase has been notably prolonged, running from December 2024 into at least March 2025, as Samsung addresses bugs and polishes the update, which features significant UI changes.
One UI 7 Stable Rollout Timeline:
- Initial Stable Release: The stable version of One UI 7 debuted with the Galaxy S25 series (S25, S25+, S25 Ultra) on January 22, 2025, unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event. These devices shipped with One UI 7 pre-installed, marking the official launch.
- Stable Rollout Start: Samsung confirmed on March 5, 2025, that the stable One UI 7 rollout for existing devices will begin in April 2025. No exact date was specified, but April is the official starting point.
- First Wave (April 2025): The Galaxy S24 series is expected to be the first to receive a stable update in April 2025, given its extensive beta testing (four builds by February 2025). The Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 are also likely candidates for early April, following their beta inclusion.
- Second Wave (May 2025): The Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy A55, which joined the beta in March, are slated for a stable update shortly after the S24 series, likely in early May 2025.
- Broader Rollout: Older flagships (e.g., Galaxy S22, S21 series, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and eligible foldable) and additional mid-range devices (e.g., Galaxy A54, A34) are anticipated to receive the stable update gradually through Q2 2025 (May–June), though exact dates remain unconfirmed. Budget models may extend into Q3 2025.
In addition to the above timeline, a rumored timeline from a Samsung Romania workshop suggested precise dates like April 18 for the S24 series and May 23 for the S21 series. However, Samsung has not officially confirmed (denied by the official moderator) this, so it’s speculative.

Samsung Galaxy users have been patiently—or not so patiently—awaiting One UI 7, and the finish line is finally in sight. With beta testing wrapping up and the stable rollout kicking off in April 2025, Samsung’s big Android 15 update is set to bring a polished, refreshed experience to millions of devices. While the delays have put Samsung behind competitors like Google, the extra time could mean a smoother, more feature-packed One UI 7.

User interest for One UI 7 overshadowed Android 15 and 16

Web searches for One UI 7 have increased on the internet for the past two months and already surpassed Android 15 and the upcoming version simultaneously in terms of users’ interest.
Android is the world’s largest mobile operating system, making an ecosystem of hundreds of companies, and Samsung has a unique role in popularizing Google’s OS with its vast device range.
In the past five years, Samsung has deepened Android ecosystem’s integration in One UI. For example, it dropped some of the home-grown Google apps and service alternatives to act ‘more’ like an Android.
Despite an Android base, One UI 7 has gained massive popularity, which didn’t happen before, and here we’ll explore the possible reasons for this new development.
New Upgrades
Samsung unveiled One UI 7 with major upgrades in animations, user interface and operational fluency. The software experience is much better than it predecessor, which is captivating for existing smartphone owners.
The beta program started with the Galaxy S24 series, 2024’s flagship phones, which triggered global media coverage about One UI 7 beta. The users were excited about new additions, revealed by early beta testers, generating excitement.
S25
The real One UI 7 hype began with the Galaxy S25 series launch in mid-January. This new flagship was the first to pack with a stable software and a couple of additional features that weren’t even available for beta testers at that time.
This year, Samsung majorly focused its launch event on the software and AI features compared and less on the hardware.
Again, the majority of the media covered the Galaxy S25 series’ software side, making it even more compelling to the previous flagship users.
Rollout delay
One UI 7 is a big update, but its rollout delay is quite unsatisfying. The majority of Galaxy users weren’t aware of the One UI 7 (Android 15) rollout. This release suspense has garnered a mass internet search about eligible devices and release date.
This trend remained the same after the S25 release and picked up pace with every rumor and leak about this software’ release. On March 18, an official press-release finally unraveled Samsung’s April plan for One UI 7, ending this long-standing mystery.
Search Trends
Since early December, I’ve seen tons of online articles about this new update. I also take a look at the Google Trends search volume from December 1, 2024, to March 25, 2025.
It shows that One UI 7’s search volume is on par with Android 15, but its search interest is above both Android versions.
It’s not about competition between Samsung and Google, instead, the search reflects the higher user interest in Samsung’s software technologies.
This is also good for Google in terms of partnership with Samsung and promoting new capabilities such as Gemini and circle to search in Galaxy devices.
Still, Samsung needs to work on its rollout efficiency to delivery software updates on time.

Samsung teases One UI 7 Beta for Galaxy A55 – Will Awesome Intelligence tag along?

Samsung is about to announce the One UI 7 Beta Program for the Galaxy A55. Earlier this month, the company expanded the Beta Program to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, as well as the Galaxy S23 series shortly after.
The official One UI 7 Beta expansion was also confirmed for the Galaxy A55. The company seems to be gearing up to meet the release deadline “within this month.” The recent development brings Beta one step closer to the A55.
Samsung India has published the One UI 7 Beta noticeboard for A55 smartphone users. It’s like teasing the potential launch of the Beta Program. As the community is live on the website, the Beta Program will also be here shortly.
One UI 7 introduces an all-new user interface for Galaxy devices. Samsung has brought select AI features to the Galaxy A55 and A35, so it’s highly likely that the new Awesome Intelligence tricks will also come along with One UI 7.
The Galaxy A56 introduces “Awesome Intelligence,” a suite of AI-powered features. Highlights include Best Face for perfect group shots, Auto Trim for effortless video editing, and enhanced Circle to Search for seamless discovery.

The company has rolled out six Betas for the S24 series, two for the S23 series, and three for the foldable phones. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A55’s Beta Program would be a brief testing activity to ensure the reliability on a non-flagship.
The Korean tech giant wouldn’t face issues as it has already launched a handful of entry-level and mid-range phones with the latest OS. The Beta Program would be aimed at testing the new firmware and its features among Public.

Galaxy S24 users can now search settings with natural language in One UI 7

With the One UI 7 Beta 6 update, Samsung adds Natural Language Search to Settings on the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones. This feature is also available for the Galaxy S25 series, as well as for those testing One UI 7 on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
The Natural Language Search feature on Galaxy S24 series allows you to use normal speech to search in Settings. For example, if you say, “My eyes are feeling tired,” the phone might suggest options like adjusting the brightness or turning on Eye Comfort Shield.
It’s an easy and convenient way to find settings without needing to type or remember exact words. This feature works in several languages, including Korean, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Portuguese.
- Natural Language Search (New)
- Old
Along with the new language search, there are small changes in the Settings search page. The ‘Try searching for’ option now appears at the top of the screen, and below it, you will find your Recent Searches, which used to be at the top.
If you’re a Galaxy S24 user testing the One UI 7 Beta, you can try out these changes and enjoy a more natural way of searching through Settings. Samsung plans to bring this update to more devices in the future, including the Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy Tab S10 series.

One UI 7’s Audio Eraser feature now available on Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, and Fold 6

Samsung has recently rolled out a new beta update for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6. This new One UI 7 Beta update includes a cool new feature called Audio Eraser for these devices, which was first introduced with the Galaxy S25 series.
Audio Eraser is an AI-powered tool that helps you remove unwanted background noise from videos. It can separate different sounds in the video, so you can keep the important sounds while getting rid of distractions, like people talking in the background or noise. This makes it easier to make the main sounds of the video clearer.
Previously, the Audio Eraser feature was only available on the Galaxy S25 series. But now, it is available on the Galaxy S24 series with Beta 6, and on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 with Beta 3 update.
If you’re testing the beta on any of these phones, you can try out this new feature. Here’s how to use it:
- Open the Samsung Gallery app on your phone.
- Tap on the “Galaxy AI” option.
- When you see the Audio Eraser pop-up, tap “OK” to start analyzing the sound.
- Once it’s ready, you’ll have different options to adjust and customize the sound however you want.
Audio Eraser is an amazing tool if you want to clean up noise from your videos and make them sound better. It’s now easier than ever to edit and improve your videos with Audio Eraser.
Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 users can now access Gemini AI via side button in One UI 7
