Here are 3 possible reasons behind One UI 7 delay
Samsung has announced stable One UI 7 for April, but its beta is already stretched for three months, meanwhile, we’ve gathered 3 possible reasons that may have caused the unnecessary rollout delay.
Android 16 (One UI 8)
Google released Android 15 in October and surprised everyone with Android 16 developer preview in November. This was quite unusual, as Google traditionally test and releases one software update a year.
For example, a new Android developer preview comes in the first quarter, followed user beta in the next and final rollout between third and fourth quarters.
In 2024, Android 16 concluded developer preview by December. In the same month, Samsung released Android 15 based One UI 7 beta.
It was an unusual schedule for the South Korean phone maker. In that case, Samsung may have been working on One UI 7 public beta and One UI 8 developer beta simultaneously. To affirm, an alleged One UI 8 beta build recently spotted on Samsung’s server for internal testing.
Distributed developer team could have caused a slow One UI 7 development, which eventually stretched stable release.
On the other hand, Google might have caught OEMs off guard by releasing Android 16 developer preview before their custom-built Android 15 versions. This may have disturbed their Android 15 rollout plans.
AI and S25 series
There are two important segments in this section, Galaxy AI and S25 launch.
Last year was an upbringing for Samsung’s generative AI features, and One UI 7 appeared as a carrier for Galaxy AI.
A couple of AI features were dedicated for Galaxy S25 series including Gemini voice assistant, Drawing assist, Audio eraser, Object eraser and more.
Meanwhile, the One UI 7 beta 3 arrived in the first week of January and the beta 4 in mid-February. That’s a big pause between these two beta software.
That’s not it, the beta 4 also includes some of the new S25 features such as AI filters and Log video for series. That suggests, 4th beta was in wait mode for S25 release.
Late testing
The simultaneous development, distributed developers and new launches may have barred Samsung from rapid build tests or quashing bugs. These are required to resolve before releasing the final software updates.
Conclusion
One UI 7 comes with new UI and feature improvements, including improved smoothness. However, smartphone users are still waiting for its wide release despite the reasons or delay probabilities.

Samsung has expanded its Galaxy A lineup in the US with the release of two budget-friendly smartphones, the Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A36. Both phones offer impressive specs and long-term software support.
The Galaxy A26 is priced at $299, while the more premium Samsung Galaxy A36 comes in at $399 in the US. Both phones launch with Android 15 and One UI 7, along with a promise of six years of software updates. It ensures OS upgrades through Android 20 and security patches until early 2030.

Galaxy A36
The Galaxy A36 offers a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It runs on the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip with 6GB of RAM, and comes with 128GB of storage (no microSD slot).
Moreover, the phone features IP67 water resistance and a 5,000mAh battery with fast 45W charging. It has a triple rear camera setup – 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, and 5MP macro camera. The front camera is 12MP.
Galaxy A26
The Galaxy A26 shares many features with the A36, like the 6.7-inch screen and 5,000mAh battery. However, it uses Samsung’s Exynos 1380 chip instead of the Snapdragon.
The phone has a triple rear camera setup of 50MP, 8MP, and a 2MP macro sensor. The Galaxy A26’s front camera is 13MP, and it includes a microSD card slot for extra storage. It features a 25W charging speed, slower than the Galaxy A36.
A new set of Galaxy S25 Edge renders have appeared online and revealed information about the upcoming device, including its design as well as specs.
Winfuture has shared a bunch of material about Galaxy S25 Edge starting with the launch date, which could happen next month, but an exact date is not shared.
The phone will equip a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with 2400 x 1000 pixels resolution. The display is flat on all side, rounded corners, and a hole punch to feature a selfie camera. The front appearance is identical to the Galaxy S25 and S25+.
The S25 Edge will pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The other three models from the lineup also have this chipset, enhancing the processing capability over Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It means that the phone will also support all of the latest Galaxy AI features.
Unlike its S25 siblings, the Edge model will offer two rear cameras, including a 200MP main sensor. The secondary will a 12MP camera, probably for ultra-wide angle photography. It was previously rumored to bring ALoP camera, a next-generation telescope lens, but this tech remains unconfirmed in the renders.
The S25 Edge is 5.8mm thick, which excludes the camera bump. However, achieving a thin form factory would require the company to sacrifice an important aspect – battery.
This minimized size wouldn’t allow Samsung to in-built a large capacity. Hence, the source suggests that the mAh size in S25 Edge will be, 3900mAh. This is fairly low compared to the S25 Plus with 4,900mAh.
Interestingly, the phone has three variants Titanium Jet Black, Titanium Silver and Titanium Icy Blue. These names indicate that the phone will be using a titanium design similar to the S25 Ultra.
With each popular model, Samsung has developed a tradition of offering online exclusive colors, and we can hope the same for the S25 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will soon make its way to the global customers and a dummy version of the device has revealed a massive upgrade in a side by side comparison to the S25 Ultra.
A Korean YouTuber has published a video featuring S25 Edge dummy, actually two dummies of the unreleased device, and explained some upgrades over the high-specs Samsung flagship.
Starting with looks, the YouTuber had two dummies, one in white and the other in all-black color. The rear side is plain as standard S25 model, with a more clear look at the vertical camera integration.
The phone has two lenses and their outlook is similar in size. The camera bump is only visible for design purpose, consisting of an LED flash.
The overall appearance is quite identical to the standard S25 and S25+. Notably, the black version has all colored appearance including a black frame, which blends into the rear.
The dummy was measured in real-time with a digital scale, revealing a 5.84mm thickness, around 2.4mm thinner than the S25 Ultra (8.2mm).

In a head’s down, side by side comparison, the S25 Edge looks impressively slimmer than the S25 Ultra. That’s not it, there’s more to observe in this shot.
Look at the components, the decreased thickness cannot be achieved without components and Samsung affirmed this in the short teaser at Unpacked 2025.

The teaser showed redesigned spare parts for this flagship. The look at the bottom of the device reveals trimmed charging port, the Sim Tray, and reshuffled speaker location.
A rear shot suggests that the phone has a slight less width than the Ultra, but the difference doesn’t look much in the video.

Another thing to note is that the device is smaller than the S25 Ultra, which is due to the smaller screen size at around 6.5-6.7-inches. The Galaxy S25 Edge dummy looks quite compelling with its design cut over S25 Ultra.
Conclusion
The new design upgrade will improve the in-hand experience for Galaxy S25 Edge users but we’ll have to wait for an official release date.
Samsung is preparing the Galaxy S25 Edge for a debut, featuring new colors, including an all-black variant that looks better on its slim form factor.
Tipster Max Jambor has shared some information about the potential color options for this upcoming Galaxy device, including Black, Gray and Blue.

Yesterday, a Korean YouTuber published a video based on S25 Edge’s dummy model and revealed that it’s only 5.8mm thin, which is about 2.4mm thinner than the S25 Ultra, Samsung’s latest flagship.

The dummy model showed new developments that Samsung has brought to the device, thanks to reinvented components to give this phone desired dimensions.
The YouTuber showcased a black Galaxy S25 Edge dummy with a full color body, including a similar color frame. On the other hand, the white model has an aluminum color frame.
Samsung may have more colors for the Galaxy S25 Edge, but we’ll have to wait for an official release to know more about the device.
