One UI 7 current status for the Samsung Galaxy S24, S23, S22, and S21 smartphones

Samsung’s One UI 7 update is built on Android 15 and has been one of the most anticipated software rollouts for Galaxy users in 2025. Promising smoother animations, smarter AI features, and a refreshed design, it’s no surprise that the Galaxy S24, S23, S22, and S21 series owners are eager to know when they’ll get their hands on the major One UI 7 software update. Let’s break it down step-by-step and see where things stand for each series, including what we know about release dates and beta progress.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Series:
The Galaxy S24 series—including the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra—is the top priority for Samsung right now. These phones have been part of the One UI 7 beta program since December 2024, giving users a chance to test early versions in select countries like the US, UK, Germany, Poland, Korea, and India. So far, Samsung has pushed out four beta updates, with the latest, Beta 4, bringing new camera tricks like AI Filters and Log Video (for the S24 Ultra) along with bug fixes.
The stable version of One UI 7 hasn’t hit the S24 series yet, but we are getting close. Samsung launched One UI 7 officially with the Galaxy S25 series on January 22, 2025, and hinted that the S24 lineup would see the stable update shortly after. Most reports point to an early March release for the stable build. For now, S24 owners on the beta are enjoying an early version, while others are waiting for the final, polished version.
Galaxy S23 Series: Next in Line
The Galaxy S23 series, including the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, is also high on Samsung’s list. Unlike the S24, the S23 series hasn’t joined the beta program yet. However, One UI 7 testing on these devices has been spotted internally, which is a good sign that Samsung is working on it. Based on past patterns and recent leaks, the stable update for the S23 series is expected to follow the S24 rollout—likely landing in late March to early April 2025.
There’s no official word on a beta program for the S23 series at this point. There’s a high chance that Samsung might skip the beta phase for these phones and go straight to stable. The S23 series is still running One UI 6.1 smoothly.
Galaxy S22 Series: A Bit Further Back
For Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra owners, the wait for One UI 7 is a little longer. Samsung has confirmed that these phones are eligible for the update, thanks to the four-year software support promise. Internal testing is underway, but there’s no public beta program active for the S22 series as of now.
The stable One UI 7 update for the S22 series is projected to roll out in April or May 2025, after the S24 and S23 get theirs. This timeline makes sense—Samsung tends to prioritize newer models first. While the wait might feel long, the S22 series is still holding strong on One UI 6.1, a stable version.
Galaxy S21 Series: Bringing Up the Rear
The Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra are the oldest phones on this list, but they are still in line for One UI 7. Launched in 2021, these devices are nearing the end of the four-year update cycle, and One UI 7 will be the last major software jump. Internal testing has been reported, but just like the S22 and S23 series, there’s no beta program available for S21 series users right now—and it’s unlikely one will start in the future.
The stable update for the S21 series is expected sometime in Q2 2025, likely in April or May. For now, S21 owners are sticking with One UI 6.1, which keeps things running smoothly until the big update arrives.
Release Date and Beta Insights:
One UI 7 officially debuted with the Galaxy S25 series on January 22, 2025. The beta program is exclusive to the S24 series, which was started in December 2024. The extra beta testing time suggests the company is taking time to get it right, which could explain why the stable rollout hasn’t begun yet.
For the S24, the stable version is imminent—possibly within weeks. The S23, S22, and S21 will follow in waves, stretching into Q2. Samsung’s silence on exact dates has frustrated some Galaxy smartphone owners including me, but its focus on quality over speed might pay off with a more reliable update.

As of now, Samsung hasn’t confirmed the One UI 7 stable rollout date for the Galaxy S24, S23, S22, and S21 phones. The S24 is ahead of the pack—it’s already got a beta program going, and the full update is almost here. The S23 is up next, set to get the stable version soon, but it hasn’t had a beta yet. The S22 and S21 are lagging behind a bit, with the full updates still a few months off and no beta testing so far.
Samsung’s playing it smart, starting with the newer phones and working its way back to the older ones. So, hang tight—no matter which of these phones you have, One UI 7 is on its way.

Galaxy S25 Edge renders revealed design and specs before its anticipated launch

A new set of Galaxy S25 Edge renders have appeared online and revealed information about the upcoming device, including its design as well as specs.
Winfuture has shared a bunch of material about Galaxy S25 Edge starting with the launch date, which could happen next month, but an exact date is not shared.
The phone will equip a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with 2400 x 1000 pixels resolution. The display is flat on all side, rounded corners, and a hole punch to feature a selfie camera. The front appearance is identical to the Galaxy S25 and S25+.
The S25 Edge will pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The other three models from the lineup also have this chipset, enhancing the processing capability over Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It means that the phone will also support all of the latest Galaxy AI features.
Unlike its S25 siblings, the Edge model will offer two rear cameras, including a 200MP main sensor. The secondary will a 12MP camera, probably for ultra-wide angle photography. It was previously rumored to bring ALoP camera, a next-generation telescope lens, but this tech remains unconfirmed in the renders.
The S25 Edge is 5.8mm thick, which excludes the camera bump. However, achieving a thin form factory would require the company to sacrifice an important aspect – battery.
This minimized size wouldn’t allow Samsung to in-built a large capacity. Hence, the source suggests that the mAh size in S25 Edge will be, 3900mAh. This is fairly low compared to the S25 Plus with 4,900mAh.
Interestingly, the phone has three variants Titanium Jet Black, Titanium Silver and Titanium Icy Blue. These names indicate that the phone will be using a titanium design similar to the S25 Ultra.
With each popular model, Samsung has developed a tradition of offering online exclusive colors, and we can hope the same for the S25 Edge.

Galaxy S25 Edge vs S25 Ultra: Dummy reveals special design upgrades

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will soon make its way to the global customers and a dummy version of the device has revealed a massive upgrade in a side by side comparison to the S25 Ultra.
A Korean YouTuber has published a video featuring S25 Edge dummy, actually two dummies of the unreleased device, and explained some upgrades over the high-specs Samsung flagship.
Starting with looks, the YouTuber had two dummies, one in white and the other in all-black color. The rear side is plain as standard S25 model, with a more clear look at the vertical camera integration.
The phone has two lenses and their outlook is similar in size. The camera bump is only visible for design purpose, consisting of an LED flash.
The overall appearance is quite identical to the standard S25 and S25+. Notably, the black version has all colored appearance including a black frame, which blends into the rear.
The dummy was measured in real-time with a digital scale, revealing a 5.84mm thickness, around 2.4mm thinner than the S25 Ultra (8.2mm).

In a head’s down, side by side comparison, the S25 Edge looks impressively slimmer than the S25 Ultra. That’s not it, there’s more to observe in this shot.
Look at the components, the decreased thickness cannot be achieved without components and Samsung affirmed this in the short teaser at Unpacked 2025.

Source – @thesinza/YouTube
The teaser showed redesigned spare parts for this flagship. The look at the bottom of the device reveals trimmed charging port, the Sim Tray, and reshuffled speaker location.
A rear shot suggests that the phone has a slight less width than the Ultra, but the difference doesn’t look much in the video.

Another thing to note is that the device is smaller than the S25 Ultra, which is due to the smaller screen size at around 6.5-6.7-inches. The Galaxy S25 Edge dummy looks quite compelling with its design cut over S25 Ultra.
Conclusion
The new design upgrade will improve the in-hand experience for Galaxy S25 Edge users but we’ll have to wait for an official release date.

Samsung is preparing the Galaxy S25 Edge for a debut, featuring new colors, including an all-black variant that looks better on its slim form factor.
Tipster Max Jambor has shared some information about the potential color options for this upcoming Galaxy device, including Black, Gray and Blue.
Max also posted an image consisting of three wallpapers, which probably belongs to the S25 Edge, as he was talking about the three colors in a prior post.
Yesterday, a Korean YouTuber published a video based on S25 Edge’s dummy model and revealed that it’s only 5.8mm thin, which is about 2.4mm thinner than the S25 Ultra, Samsung’s latest flagship.

The dummy model showed new developments that Samsung has brought to the device, thanks to reinvented components to give this phone desired dimensions.
The YouTuber showcased a black Galaxy S25 Edge dummy with a full color body, including a similar color frame. On the other hand, the white model has an aluminum color frame.
Samsung may have more colors for the Galaxy S25 Edge, but we’ll have to wait for an official release to know more about the device.
