The January 2025 patch was initially included with the Galaxy S24 family’s One UI 7 Beta 3 update. The build versions were AXL1 for non-Beta users and AXL2 for Verizon users in the US.
Meanwhile, the latest software update’s details are as follows:
- Galaxy S24 – S921NKSS4AXL3
- S24 Plus – S926NKSS4AXL3
- S24 Ultra – S928NKSS4AXL3
- Size – 377MB
- Security Patch – January 2025

- Google addresses 5 critical and 24 high-level Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures. 1 CVE was covered in previous updates, and 2 CVEs aren’t applicable.
- Samsung adds its fixes with 22 SVE items, targeting issues in components like the native Sound Picker, Messages app, Notification Manager, and Bootloader.
One UI 7
Samsung has been running the One UI 7 Beta Program since the beginning of December 2024. The company has rolled out three Beta updates so far and the Beta 4 is getting ready for rollout.
We aren’t too far from the official unveiling, which is set to take place on January 22 in the US. Samsung may share a potential update rollout schedule for compatible Galaxy devices.
The rollout of this second security (incremental firmware) update suggests that Samsung is still polishing the major firmware, which isn’t ready yet for deployment on a Public scale.

Samsung holds Stable One UI 7 release to perfect Galaxy S24 experience

Owners of the Galaxy S24 series are eagerly awaiting the Android 15 update. Samsung’s aim to streamline its software process led users to a long wait. Now, Samsung says it holds the Stable One UI 7 release to perfect the Galaxy S24 experience.
After a streak of One UI 7 Beta 4 rumors, Samsung officially confirmed the arrival through moderators. The next Beta update could be rolled out next week, reaching the Galaxy S24 models in seven countries where Beta is live.
It’s been over a month since Samsung pushed the Beta 3 update. The next Beta version is coming unexpectedly as the Stable version was highly anticipated to be released after the Galaxy S25 series’s unveiling and global sales.
Well, Samsung says (via community moderator) that it is working to perfect the Stable One UI 7 experience for Galaxy S24 models. Therefore, the company is refraining from announcing the update release roadmap for Galaxy devices.
The Beta testing has been underway since the initial release in early December last year. Two months of the Beta Program have already been completed and it’s difficult to expect the official update anytime soon in February 2025.
Samsung believes extensive testing helps refine optimizations, address feedback, and ensure a smooth transition to a Stable version. Hence, another Beta update is under development with fixes for a severe flaw related to the display colors.
To be noted, there’s no intention of encouraging users to buy the new Galaxy. The new flagships indeed come with new features and improved experience. Meanwhile, ensuring the longevity and reliability of older models remains a priority.
Here’s what Samsung US Community moderator said:
The timing of the stable One UI 7 release is primarily focused on ensuring the best possible experience for S24 series users.
Extensive testing helps refine optimizations, address feedback, and ensure a smooth transition before rolling it out globally.
While upgrade cycles and sales trends are always a topic of discussion, Samsung’s goal remains to enhance the longevity and performance of existing devices alongside launching new ones.

Samsung confirms One UI 7 Beta 4 for Galaxy S24 – Here’s when to expect it

Samsung moderator confirmed that the One UI 7 Beta 4 is in preparation for the Galaxy S24 series. The Beta Program staff member has also shared a tentative release timeline for this shocking Beta update for the devices.
One UI 7 Beta 4 is expected to be released next week for the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung is working on a new Beta firmware, which will address the remaining glitches. That said, the Beta participants can expect availability next week.
Previously, Samsung rolled out the third One UI 7 Beta in early January. The update was considered final before the Stable firmware. However, all assumptions turned out to be untrue as Beta 4 is under development.
Samsung US Community moderator said that the announcement regarding the Beta 4 release will be made once the software is ready. Meanwhile, it’s now safe to expect the next Beta build for the Galaxy S24 series by the end of February.
Here’s what the moderator announced:
Hello, Beta Participants,
We apologize for the long wait since Beta 3.
We are currently preparing the Beta 4 version and are aiming for distribution next week.
We will do our best to release it as soon as possible.
We sincerely appreciate your valuable feedback and error reports and will strive to provide a more stable version in return.
Thank you.
ZYB4 could be the Beta 4
Recently, a new Beta (test build) for the Galaxy S24 series has surfaced on the software database. The company is currently testing the ZYB4 build, which could be provided to users. However, the build may change as there’s still a week-long time in release.
While the moderator didn’t specify fixes, the fourth Beta is expected to address a major display flaw. Some users reported that the screen aggressively renders a Yellow color when Color optimization is enabled in Natural mode.

Here’s when to expect One UI 7 update for your Galaxy S24 FE

Last month, Samsung launched the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S25 series, leaving users of other Galaxy smartphones eagerly awaiting the major update. A new report claims that the stable One UI 7 update for the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could arrive in March 2025.
According to a reliable tipster, Samsung may release the update for the Galaxy S24 FE on March 31, 2025. This means users of this device will have to wait longer to experience the new features.
This rumored date has left Galaxy S24 FE users disappointed, as the device is relatively new, and they were hoping for quicker access to One UI 7. Despite being one of the latest smartphones in Samsung’s lineup, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has not even seen a beta program yet, and users are excited to try out the new features and improvements promised with the update.
Moreover, the tipster also mentioned that the stable update for the Galaxy S24 S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra could release before March 31. This suggests that users of the Galaxy S24 series may receive the One UI 7 update sometime in March, though not in February 2025 as some had hoped.
The delay in the One UI 7 rollout has caused frustration among Galaxy users, particularly those with the latest flagship devices, who still have to wait to test Android 15 features. Meanwhile, Google has already started rolling out Android 16 beta updates.
As of now, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt, as Samsung has not officially confirmed any of the details. Users will need to wait for official announcements in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.
Galaxy S24 FE’s One UI 7 is ready, you can virtually try it right now!

Samsung prepares to push One UI 7 Beta 4 to Galaxy S24 series

Samsung Galaxy S24 series is apparently preparing to receive the One UI 7 Beta 4 update. After a long silence, a new Beta test build has surfaced on the software server, solidifying the recent reports of a potential Beta 4 rollout.
Galaxy S24 series may receive one more One UI 7 Beta update as Beta 4. A new test build with PDA version number ending ZYB4 has appeared on the database. This development suggests that the Beta participants will soon get a new update.
Samsung released the third Beta update on January 6, 2025. Since then, the company has only confirmed that “the Beta Program is still ongoing.” It was recently revealed that the fourth Beta update is on the cards.
Now, the appearance of the fourth build suggests that there’s still a long road to go for the Stable release. Before jumping the ship, Beta participants are highly likely to be getting a more polished build, which could be the final one.
With the Beta 4, you can expect a fix for the issue where the screen appears more yellowish than intended. Some users identified the yellowish display color problem in the Color optimization setting in Natural mode.
Over the last four weeks, Samsung has been busy in the Galaxy S25 series. The Unpacked event was held on January 22, while the sale started on February 7. In the midst, the company was busy with pre-orders and preps for meeting the demand.
Now, the software department is back to finalize the update for older models. The Beta Program is exclusively available for the S24 phones and there’s no chance of model-wise expansion before the Stable distribution.
