Samsung Korean economy

Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, Samsung’s 17 affiliates are helping to boost the Korean economy by buying products from unicorns including local farmers, fishermen, and small businesses. Executives and Employees at companies are taking the lead in revitalizing the economy.

The companies including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, and Samsung BioLogics are buying agricultural, livestock, and marine products through online marketplaces to support local communities.

These online markets are part of Samsung’s effort to increase domestic spending. Over 60 businesses, many of which are part of Samsung’s smart factory program, are selling items like red ginseng extract, pear extract, seaweed, and rice cakes for the holiday.

Last year, purchases by employees during the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays reached 2.8 billion won. Samsung is also helping its partner companies by making early payments of up to 560 billion won to ensure they don’t face financial struggles before the holiday.

Samsung has also set up a 1 trillion won fund to assist partners in making their businesses more sustainable without financial strain. Through these efforts, Samsung is not only helping local businesses but also boosting the Korean economy, especially during the important Lunar New Year holiday season.

Galaxy S24 Ultra owners still awaiting the first major One UI update despite Samsung’s 7 year software support promise

Published

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra $250 deal

When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S24 series last year, the company set a new standard in the smartphone industry by promising an impressive 7 years of software support. However, as months turned into over a year since the launch, users of the Galaxy S24 Ultra are still left waiting for their first major One UI software update.

Despite the big promises, the reality has been quite different for Galaxy S24 Ultra owners. Over a year after its launch, there has been no sign of the first major One UI update. This delay is particularly frustrating when compared to competitors like Google.

For example, the Google Pixel 8 was launched with a 7-year support promise and already received the Android 15 update a few months ago.

Samsung has been slow with security updates this year. Security updates are essential for keeping your device safe and secure. Without these updates, it raises doubts about Samsung’s commitment to support.

The delay in software updates has led to much talk among Sammy fans and Galaxy S24 Ultra users. The device owners are complaining on social media and tech forums, asking when the updates will come. This has hurt user satisfaction and Samsung’s reputation for reliable software support.

Samsung promised 7 years of software updates for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which was a major selling point. But not getting even the first big update after more than a year isn’t just a delay, it is a major letdown. This makes us question if Samsung can keep its long-term promises.

It’s not only about software updates; it’s about trust in a brand known for innovation and care for customers. Samsung must act fast to fix the current situation, not only for existing users but to convince new ones that its promises are not empty.

To stay at the top of the smartphone market, Samsung needs software support to match its great hardware. If not, the promises might become just another disappointment in tech.

Samsung prioritizes Galaxy S25 sales over One UI 7 update rollout

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra Comparison

I have been using the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra daily since its launch, and I love it. The hardware combined with One UI 7 is a perfect match for anyone. It looks like, Samsung is more interested in selling the new Galaxy S25 series than updating its software. The much-awaited One UI 7 update hasn’t shown up yet, and there’s no word from Samsung on when we might see it.

Samsung is heavily promoting its latest flagship, the S25 series, which is understandable. However, this aggressive sales strategy appears to have come at the expense of software updates, particularly the eagerly awaited One UI 7. The silence from Samsung has left many users in the dark, leaving users to wonder if they will ever get this big update.

The next sentence might make you a little disappointed. The Galaxy S24 series launched with the promise of seven years of software support back in 2024. Over a year after the launch of the devices, the anticipated One UI 7 update, the first major software release, remains unavailable, making owners upset because they think Samsung forgot or isn’t paying attention.

The above case highlights a major issue with Samsung’s update management. The company promises long-term support for its devices, but clearly, Samsung is not doing a great job here. It’s not just about missing new looks or features; it’s about the crucial promise of security and functionality updates.

In this real world, today, Apple rolled out new software updates across its ecosystem, including updates for iPhones, Apple Watches, Apple TVs, and MacBooks. On the Samsung front, the company only released a security update for the Galaxy S24 series in one country, further highlighting the inconsistent approach to software support.

Samsung seems to care more about selling new phones quickly than keeping customers happy for the long term. By focusing almost exclusively on the Galaxy S25 series sales, the company has arguably failed its users in terms of software support. Not talking about the One UI 7 update is disappointing, especially where there is a competitor like Apple, who consistently delivers updates across its product lines quickly.

This makes us wonder if Samsung really cares about its users after they buy a phone. To maintain its position as a leading mobile phone manufacturer, Samsung must prioritize software updates, making them a priority, not an extra. If not, people might stop believing in Samsung’s update promises, feeling ignored when new phones come out.

My Take:

Having been a Samsung user for years, I have always appreciated Samsung’s commitment to software support. The evolution from the early versions of One UI to the more refined interfaces has been one of the reasons I stuck with Samsung. There was a time when Samsung was praised for its timely and well-executed update rollouts, making it stand out in the Android ecosystem, better than Google.

However, I can’t say the same for this year. The disappointment has never been this high. Samsung’s approach to software updates seems to have taken a backseat, especially with the rollout of One UI 7. The beta program, which was once a highlight of Samsung’s update strategy, started late this time and was limited to just one device model, which was a significant letdown.

Even more frustrating is the lack of communication from Samsung. There’s been no timeline, no updates on the rollout, just silence. This isn’t just about missing out on new features or an attractive interface; it’s about feeling neglected as a customer.

The absence of clear communication makes the situation even worse. It looks like Samsung has completely turned its back on the software side of things, focusing solely on sales of new devices. This shift in priorities is not only disappointing but also a clear sign of where Samsung’s current interests lie, and it’s not in maintaining the trust and satisfaction of its long-term users.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Apps

Samsung Galaxy S25 series is packed with One UI 7 software and updated apps, but there are a few things that you can do to get a better user experience. Install these 5 apps on your new Galaxy S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra.

Samsung has a bunch of system apps pre-loaded with the S25 lineup but its growing part in Google’s ecosystem has led to the outcast of several in-house applications.

Meanwhile, some other third-party apps are also taking a share in One UI, which you should delete in case you might not need them. Let’s start with apps that you should uninstall.

Microsoft

  • OneDrive

Except for OneDrive, you can uninstall the other three apps. In any case, keep them only if you have a Microsoft account or subscription to its chatbot services.

As a suggestion, S25 smartphones come with the Gemini app and you can use it for free with your existing Google account, while Copilot has a mandatory login wall.

Some apps are no longer served pre-installed and one of these can take personalization to the next level.

Samsung Messages

Samsung excluded Google Messages as the sole messaging app for new devices but you can download Samsung’s Messaging app from the Galaxy Store in case you aren’t fond of Google’s alternative.

Music

S25 series has no native music app due to pre-installed Spotify and YT Music apps but Samsung’s dedicated Music app has a feature to explore offline library along with Spotify integration.

You can get Samsung Music on your Galaxy S25 from Galaxy Store.

Expert Raw

One UI 7 enabled a redesigned camera app for S25 devices but it also has an extension “Expert Raw”, which gives you advanced control over your photography. This extension can be loaded from the main camera app from the following settings

  • Open Camera app
  • Tap MORE
  • Tap Expert RAW
  • Install the app from the pop-up window

Post-installation, the Expert Raw will appear in the app drawer, or you can use it any time from this menu.

Email

Samsung has its own email app, which you install and use to log in to any email address if you don’t want to tag along with Outlook in the first place.

Good Lock

This is the best smartphone personalization for any smartphone. Good Lock has a range of different apps that let you customize many settings to simplify interactions, improve system features, and manage your device.

The app has a main module listed on the Galaxy Store and you can choose which plug-in you want to use before downloading.

There you go guys, these apps and services you should install and remove from your new Samsung Galaxy S25 series device. Still, it comes down to your preference and use case to install what you need first in your device.
