Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event is scheduled for later this month when the Galaxy S25 series will be officially unveiled. Ahead of the event, Samsung teased one of the most exciting, Text to Image, features of One UI 7, which will come pre-installed on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The Galaxy S Series’s Ultra models have always been great tools for creativity, and now they’re even better. With the new One UI 7 update, Samsung is introducing an AI-powered “Text to Image” feature in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This new feature makes bringing your ideas to reality easier with just a few simple steps.

One UI 7 Text to Image feature works through Galaxy AI, which understands text, voice, and images to make the Galaxy S25 Ultra a true AI companion. It’s like having a personal assistant that helps you create anything you dream of, simply by typing, speaking, or drawing.

Sketch to Image is now integrated into Drawing Assitant, which lets you create images in a new way. With One UI 7 update, you can use not just your S Pen for drawing but also type or speak your ideas, and the phone will create images based on your descriptions.

With Galaxy AI’s multimodal capabilities, you can create whatever you imagine. For example, you can quickly draw a cat, then type “spacesuit” to see that cat in a spacesuit, or draw your dream home and change its location by typing things like “on the beach” or “in the mountains.”

Stay tuned for the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22, where Samsung will reveal the Galaxy S25 series and the new One UI 7 AI tools that will help you unlock your creativity.

Samsung One UI 7 Home Up app features

The new Samsung Home Up plugin unlocks insane home screen customization in One UI 7. From freeform layouts to gesture animation tuning, this awesome Good Lock app blows open many more personalization skills to explore.

In particular, Samsung Home Up in One UI 7 introduces a new DIY Home for home screen customization. The newly added DIY Home button unveils wild freeform screen layouts, giving users full freedom of everything on the home screen.

This feature allows Galaxy users to freely move apps and widgets, even placing them in unusual spots or partially off-screen. Besides, widgets and apps can overlap, creating a chaotic but customizable layout.

These changes apply only above the bottom toolbar where static apps reside and rotated or upside-down folders still function normally. There are more advanced tuning options that bring additional customization options for animations.

Samsung’s One UI 7 adds new parental control features for safer screen time

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Samsung’s One UI 7 stable is available on the Galaxy S25 series, which brings new and helpful parental control features that let parents manage what their kids can see and do on their devices. These features control what children can access on the Samsung Internet browser and Galaxy Store.

One UI 7 adds a content filter for the Samsung Internet app. Parents can block websites that contain explicit or violent content, which helps to keep kids away from harmful online material. While the filter can’t catch everything, it will block a large number of inappropriate websites.

Parents also have the option to set restrictions on what apps and games can be downloaded from the Galaxy Store. There is a “maximum rating” feature that allows parents to limit downloads based on age.

Now, Parents can set the Galaxy Store only to allow apps rated for All Ages, 12+, 16+, or 18+. This helps ensure that kids don’t accidentally download inappropriate apps or games for their age.

These new features are found under “Digital Wellbeing and Parental Controls” on the device’s Settings. It is likely that these features are available when setting up a device for a child, with parental approval needed to change any settings.

Although it’s not confirmed yet, the update might also allow parents to approve app downloads and purchases before they are made.

Currently, these Parental Control features are only available on the Galaxy S25, but they will probably be added to other Samsung devices once the One UI 7 update expands to more models.

Samsung One UI Now Bar

Owners of the Galaxy S24 series are eagerly awaiting the Android 15 update. Samsung’s aim to streamline its software process led users to a long wait. Now, Samsung says it holds the Stable One UI 7 release to perfect the Galaxy S24 experience.

After a streak of One UI 7 Beta 4 rumors, Samsung officially confirmed the arrival through moderators. The next Beta update could be rolled out next week, reaching the Galaxy S24 models in seven countries where Beta is live.

It’s been over a month since Samsung pushed the Beta 3 update. The next Beta version is coming unexpectedly as the Stable version was highly anticipated to be released after the Galaxy S25 series’s unveiling and global sales.

Well, Samsung says (via community moderator) that it is working to perfect the Stable One UI 7 experience for Galaxy S24 models. Therefore, the company is refraining from announcing the update release roadmap for Galaxy devices.

The Beta testing has been underway since the initial release in early December last year. Two months of the Beta Program have already been completed and it’s difficult to expect the official update anytime soon in February 2025.

Samsung believes extensive testing helps refine optimizations, address feedback, and ensure a smooth transition to a Stable version. Hence, another Beta update is under development with fixes for a severe flaw related to the display colors.

To be noted, there’s no intention of encouraging users to buy the new Galaxy. The new flagships indeed come with new features and improved experience. Meanwhile, ensuring the longevity and reliability of older models remains a priority.

Here’s what Samsung US Community moderator said:

The timing of the stable One UI 7 release is primarily focused on ensuring the best possible experience for S24 series users.

Extensive testing helps refine optimizations, address feedback, and ensure a smooth transition before rolling it out globally.

While upgrade cycles and sales trends are always a topic of discussion, Samsung’s goal remains to enhance the longevity and performance of existing devices alongside launching new ones.

Samsung moderator confirmed that the One UI 7 Beta 4 is in preparation for the Galaxy S24 series. The Beta Program staff member has also shared a tentative release timeline for this shocking Beta update for the devices.

One UI 7 Beta 4 is expected to be released next week for the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung is working on a new Beta firmware, which will address the remaining glitches. That said, the Beta participants can expect availability next week.

Previously, Samsung rolled out the third One UI 7 Beta in early January. The update was considered final before the Stable firmware. However, all assumptions turned out to be untrue as Beta 4 is under development.

Samsung US Community moderator said that the announcement regarding the Beta 4 release will be made once the software is ready. Meanwhile, it’s now safe to expect the next Beta build for the Galaxy S24 series by the end of February.

Here’s what the moderator announced:

Thank you.

ZYB4 could be the Beta 4

Recently, a new Beta (test build) for the Galaxy S24 series has surfaced on the software database. The company is currently testing the ZYB4 build, which could be provided to users. However, the build may change as there’s still a week-long time in release.

While the moderator didn’t specify fixes, the fourth Beta is expected to address a major display flaw. Some users reported that the screen aggressively renders a Yellow color when Color optimization is enabled in Natural mode.
