Verizon’s Galaxy S24 (not on One UI 7) getting January 2025 update
Verizon is rolling out a new update for Galaxy S24 series smartphones, which installs the January 2025 security patch to improve system security and stability. The update is rolling out for locked models in the US and already live in Korea.
January 2025 security update for Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones on Verizon US can be verified through One UI builds S921USQS4AXL2, S926USQS4AXL2, and S928USQS4AXL2 respectively.
The fresh security patch is available in limited countries and the company will expand to more Galaxy S24 users soon. Notably, it is now available for non-One UI 7 beta testers. The Galaxy S24 users who participated in the Beta Program already received this update with One UI 7 Beta.
January 2025 security update fixes over 50 vulnerabilities to make devices more secure, stable, and reliable. It improves Sound Picker, Samsung Messages, Notification Manager, and Bootloader.
Users can check new software updates manually with a handful of simple steps. Firstly, visit your Galaxy device’s “System Settings,” once done, scroll down and tap the “Software update” tab, followed by the “Download and install” button.
Aside from this, Samsung is working to release a stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series. It is worth noting that the company announced to release it with the Galaxy S25 series. However, the recent leak suggested that One UI 7 Beta 3 could be the last beta update and the company is now planning to release stable software.
