One UI
Samsung One UI 8 appears for the first time
Samsung is in the midst of One UI 7 beta testing and we now have the first sign of the next major software upgrade for Galaxy devices – One UI 8.
Samsung has made some serious changes in the One UI 7 system applications, providing them with a new look, especially focusing on app icons. Here you will see more vivid colors and natural graphics throughout the software.
These apps are routing a way to the future, which means, a revelation of some apps’ internal code has mentioned One UI 8.0. This code reveal is interesting and suggests Samsung’s upfront preparations for the next One UI.
Smartprix has decompiled some apps and found “One_UI_8_0” in several places. These codes are mentioned alongside One UI 6.1 and One UI 7.0. So, this reference might be related to the compatibility but no specific insights are available on this matter.
Under development
We’ve not verified this revelation but such references are usual for new apps that are under development. Moreover, the changes made in the initial version continue to evolve with each new feature added over time.
It means, that when developers upgrade apps, they also verify their compatibility with future software systems, especially when a preview build for the next operating system version is available.
It indirectly suggests that the company might have started working on the Android 16 preview internally.
This year was quite late for One UI release, the Korean tech giant took more than last year to release a new One UI beta. Recently, Samsung released One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 series.
However, the test is underway and a stable One UI 7 rollout is pending, which could happen around the Samsung Galaxy S25 release.
This news about One UI 8 could be a good sign for Samsung users as we may see an early rollout of this next major upgrade than One UI 7.
