Galaxy Z Fold 6, Fold 4, and Z Fold SE receive One UI 6.1.1 based January 2025 security update

Samsung is currently working to make the One UI 7 update available for Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Fold SE smartphones are getting a new update with the January 2025 security patch. This update is based on Android 14 and One UI 6.1.1.

January 2025 security update for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Fold SE can be identified through One UI build versions F956USQS2AXLG, F936USQS7GXLF, and F958NKSS2AXLF respectively.

The fresh new update for Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 is available for locked models in the US while Galaxy Z Fold SE is getting it in Korea. It is a gradual rollout so it may take some hours or days to reach all models.

January 2025 security patch includes over 50 vulnerability fixes, with contributions from both Google and Samsung. Google’s patch covers 5 critical CVEs and 24 high-level issues, while Samsung adds 22 of its own fixes. These focus on Sound Picker, Samsung Messages, Notification Manager, and Bootloader, addressing vulnerabilities that could affect your device’s performance.

This update improves the overall security and stability of the device for better performance. Notably, the update is based on Android 14 and these devices are eligible for Android 15. Currently, the One UI 7 Beta is underway and the company will release a stable update with the Galaxy S25 series later this month.
