Stable January 2025 security update starts rolling out with Galaxy S24 series [Non-Beta]
Samsung has started rolling out the stable January 2025 security update for Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra users in Korea. This security patch is already out for Galaxy S24 users in several countries but only for those who are testing One UI 7 Beta.
With the One UI 7 Beta 3 update, Samsung rolled out the latest security for Galaxy S24 series users with several new features. Now, the stable January 2025 security update is available for non-beta Galaxy S24 models. It is currently limited for Korean users and the company will soon expand it in more countries.
Users of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series can verify the latest security patch through the One UI build version given below.
- S921NKSS4AXL1 – Galaxy S24
- S926NKSS4AXL1 – Galaxy S24 Plus
- S928NKSS4AXL1 – Galaxy S24 Ultra
The installation package size of this update is over 440 MB. The update improves the system’s security and stability to provide a better experience.
As per the official details, the January 2025 security update fixes more than 50 vulnerabilities, with patches from both Google and Samsung. Google addresses 5 critical and 24 high-level CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), while 1 CVE was already covered in previous updates. Notably, 2 CVEs are not applicable to Samsung devices.
In addition, Samsung fixes 22 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items. These primarily address issues with Samsung’s Sound Picker, Samsung Messages, Notification Manager, and Bootloader.
To check the update, you just need to navigate to the device’s Settings, then a Software update, and Download and install. If you have received the update, install it now to get enhanced features.
