One UI 7 Beta: Where have the stock Wallpapers gone?
Samsung has recently released the third One UI 7 Beta update. It is spotted that the latest One UI 7 Beta has made some major changes to the stock wallpapers tab on the Galaxy S24 series, rendering the options hidden from the section.
Galaxy phones come with a dedicated array of stock wallpapers. Samsung brings a set of stock wallpapers to each Galaxy. The One UI 6 added two additional sections including software wallpapers and colors (with different choices).
The picture attached below shows the difference between the Featured in One UI 6.1 and One UI 7 (Beta 3). The existing page shows all stock wallpapers in Featured, while the One UI 7 brings Stock (Interactive/Static), Frame, Effect, and Colors together.
When explored deeper, it has been found that the Interactive and Static wallpaper options are not removed. When selected, a new button entitled Variations appears, letting you pick color options for the respective style of stock wallpaper.
The latest One UI 7 Beta appears to have made stock wallpapers hidden. It’s probably a move to streamline the Wallpaper Services tab’s Featured section and it seems the One UI Beta team is unaware of the details behind this change.
One UI 7 is still in the Beta phase and changes are being made by the development team. The software is continuously getting refined as per consumer feedback. We may see a clarification in the Featured section in future updates.
Samsung will unveil the final version of One UI 7 on January 22, 2025. The Stable update’s rollout may start for older devices in mid to late February. Don’t miss checking the One UI 7 Beta 3 Changelog: New Features, UI Changes and Bug Fixes.
Here’s the response by Samsung through the moderator:
Thanks for pointing this out! It seems like the stock wallpaper selection has been limited or altered with the Beta One UI 7 update. This could be intentional as part of the beta changes, or it might be an oversight during the transition to the new version.
Here are a few things you can try:
1. Check for the Wallpapers App:
Go to Settings > Wallpaper & Style > Wallpaper Services and see if there are any additional options or downloads available. Samsung sometimes updates wallpaper collections separately.
2. Explore Galaxy Themes:
Open the Galaxy Themes app and navigate to the Wallpapers section. While this isn’t the same as stock wallpapers, you might find some Samsung-curated options there.
3. Back Up & Restore Stock Wallpapers:
If you have another Samsung device running a stable version of One UI, you can transfer its stock wallpapers to your S24 Plus. Alternatively, look online for Samsung stock wallpaper collections for manual download.
4. Submit Feedback:
Since this is a beta version, your feedback through the Samsung Members app can help highlight the issue and potentially bring back the missing stock wallpapers in future updates.
