Google is working to make Android Auto available for more types of vehicles, including motorcycles. The company is reportedly gearing up to improve the app icon and interface to extend Android Auto support.

Recently, new changes have been spotted on Android Auto version 13.5.150204 by Assemble Debug (via Android Authority). These changes in the app interface hint at support for more vehicles.

With the new update, the word “Car” is replaced with “Vehicle” in the app’s settings. This small update hints that Google plans to expand Android Auto beyond just cars, possibly including motorcycles.

Moreover, the app also shows new icons that seem to be made specifically for motorcycles. There’s a new icon for TVS, an Indian motorcycle brand, suggesting that Google is working on support for specific motorcycle manufacturers.

Along the these changes, the codes of the latest update also show that Android Auto might soon support higher-resolution displays. Currently, Android Auto works with a maximum resolution of 1920x1080p.

However, with future updates, it could support higher resolutions like 2560x1440p and 3840x2160p. This change is expected to make the app’s interface look clearer and sharper, even on larger screens.

Aside from this, Google is also bringing its Android Automotive OS to motorcycles. Austrian motorcycle company KTM has already announced plans to use this system in its upcoming high-end bikes.

These changes are not yet available in the current version of Android Auto but are expected to roll out in future updates. Keep an eye out for these amazing features in the next versions.
