Samsung One UI 7 to launch AI-powered Bixby with LLM
Samsung may introduce an upgraded Bixby with AI and LLM integration in One UI 7. The company has recently dropped the first Galaxy S25 teaser. The clip teases an intelligent voice assistant that would surely be the next-gen Bixby.
One UI 7 Bixby may be equipped with Samsung’s Galaxy AI and LLM. The company previously revealed its plans to upgrade its in-house voice assistant. It seems the major release may take place with the Galaxy S25 unveiled this month.
In the latest development, MaxJambor published an official promo image. The picture showcases Samsung’s expanding AI journey. It mentions Bixby’s potential integration with LLM (large language model) which could be Samsung Gauss.
At the July 2024 Unpacked, Samsung’s TM Roh confirmed that a major upgrade to Bixby is coming this year. The Samsung Mobile chief also confirmed that the Bixby will be equipped with Generative AI capabilities.
“We’re going to advance Bixby with application of Gen AI technology,” Roh said in Korean via a translator.
Later on, Samsung introduced next-gen Bixby with the W25 and W25 Flip in China. The iteration features advanced LLMs to understand language better and handle multiple commands at once as well as responding to more complex commands.
Recently, Samsung leaker IceUniverse also claimed that the upgraded Bixby will be one of the biggest selling points of the Galaxy S25 series. These inputs indicate that Samsung has brought much-needed improvements to Bixby.
Apple upgraded its Siri with AI capabilities customized by OpenAI. Google also introduced Gemini and replaced the Google Assistant with Gemini. Microsoft has also launched a dedicated Copilot AI app that is stunningly advanced.
It seems Samsung is all set to return to its leading position in the mobile industry. The more feature-rich Bixby is, the more preference will be given. Its slow pace of evolution already led Google to gain a hefty edge in the market.
