Samsung Slidable Flex Vertical

Samsung is set to showcase futuristic Slidable OLED displays at CES 2025. The company has recently released two videos, unveiling the next-generation Slidable display prototypes that would be used in phones, tablets, and laptops.

Slidable Flex Vertical

Samsung Display has developed a Slidable display that extends vertically. We’ve seen device prototypes that turn tablet-sized with rollable screens. Beyond that, the company explored a vertical flex panel.

The new Slidable Flex Vertical prototype features a 5.1-inch slidable OLED screen. It can expand to a 6.7-inch size, matching the size of a bar-type flagship phone. The panel paves the way to develop compact phones that can be enlarged too.

Here’s the official demonstration:

Slidable Flex Duet

Samsung Display introduced a slidable flex screen at CES 2024 as well. Now, the company has come up with Slidable Flex Duet display technology. It’s an 8.1-inch OLED screen, which is extendable from both; the left and right sides.

This 8.1-inch OLED display can turn into a 12.4-inch screen, reaching a laptop’s size. It’s a cool solution for tablet vendors, offering tablet-like portability while providing a screen experience equivalent to a regular-size laptop.

Samsung will be unveiling next-gen hardware and software advancements at CES 2025. The biggest electronics expo is being held in Las Vegas, USA. Later this month, Samsung may hold an Unpacked event to reveal the S25 series.
