New WhatsApp feature lets you control chat animation playback for GIFs, emojis, and stickers
WhatsApp has released a new beta update for Android, which brings an exciting feature called Chat Animation. This new option lets users control the animations of emojis, stickers, and GIFs in their chats.
Users can identify the latest Whatsapp Beta update for Android via version 2.25.1.10, available through the Google Play Beta Program. This feature is currently under development and is expected to be available in a future update.
The Chat Animation option for WhatsApp allows users to manage animations separately for emojis, stickers, and GIFs. This feature includes three toogles for Emoji stickers and GIFs to control animations individually.
It means you can choose to stop animated emojis from moving automatically or keep animated stickers from playing unless you tap on them. Similarly, GIFs will only animate when you click on them, instead of playing by themselves.
The fresh change aims to help users who find constant animations distracting or annoying. Some people might prefer a quieter, less animated chat experience, while others may enjoy more movement. With this new option, users can customize their chats to suit their personal preferences.
Previously, WhatsApp introduced the plan of stopping autoplay for animated images. The current update proceeds with that idea by offering more specific controls to allow users to manage emojis, stickers, and GIFs separately.
As of now, it is being tested by limited users through the WhatsApp Beta program. Once fully ready, it will be rolled out to everyone in a future update. Keep an eye out for more details.
