Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Features: What the 2025 flagship brings to you
Samsung is getting ready to unveil the Galaxy S25 Ultra which promises upgraded features and specs. From display and camera to design and performance, the flagship is all set to raise the bar of technological standards this year.
Despite several upgrades and new features, Samsung is most likely to keep the pricing of the Galaxy S25 Ultra unchanged. This means Apple’s iPhone will be facing intense heat of competition inside and outside the United States.
Samsung is expected to hold an Unpacked event later this month. As usual, the company will unveil new Galaxy S series smartphones. An official invite is just around the corner, which may confirm the January 22 venue in San Jose.
The Galaxy S24 series was a huge success for Samsung even in tough times when the market was at a recovery stage. Galaxy AI flipped the script, surpassing the market expectations and the next generation would maintain the lead.
Samsung hasn’t, but a lot of rumors have already revealed what’s possible on the S25 Ultra. Here are the key features that will help Samsung’s next Ultra stand out from the competition.
Design
Samsung kept the Note legacy alive with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, and S24 Ultra. 2025 is the year for evolution, bringing in a refined design, which still keeps the Note era alive with a catch.
Galaxy S25 Ultra is all set to ditch sharp corners from the frame’s edges. The durable Titanium frame adopts a marginal curvature that significantly reduces the sharpness while keeping the iconic design approach intact.
The rounded corners help you keep using the S25 Ultra without getting frustrated by the sharp corners. It significantly improves the user experience and enhances the phone’s handling, even single-handedly.
Display
Samsung could retain the M13 OLED in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It’s a marginally downgraded panel as compared to the latest screens used in the iPhone 16s and Pixel 9s. Well, this doesn’t mean Samsung stopped upgrading its experience.
Leaked documents revealed the S25 Ultra’s screen resolution and key specs. The phone would take the display to new heights with up to 3000 nits peak brightness. The resolution will continue to be the same as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, QHD+ (1440 x 3120 pixels).
The screen will be equipped with LTPO tech, ensuring power efficiency. The display significantly improves battery life without compromising on quality. HDR 10+ is slated to be continued apart from the 1-120Hz variable refresh rate.
Camera
The camera hardware section could disappoint you, at least on the table. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is likely to retain the quad-telephoto camera, you get 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10x optical zoom – derived from both hardware and software tweaks.
Here’s a quick look at camera of three generations of S Ultra:

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra would be getting an upgraded 50-megapixel Ultra Wide camera. The remaining image sensors will be the same as the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Also, there’s no chance of hardware changes for the 12-megapixel front camera.
Performance
Snapdragon 8 Elite has the biggest ever performance improvements in Qualcomm’s history. The new chipset uses a Qualcomm Oryon CPU and is fabricated using TSMC’s 3nm process technology.
The chipset has two core clusters:
- 6 Cores clocked at 3.53 GHz
- 2 Cores clocked at 4.47 GHz
The S25 Ultra performance reached 3049 and 9793 points on Geekbench with 12GB RAM. The 512GB and 1TB variant will use 16GB of RAM, exceeding multi-core scores to a huge 10000 mark.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max surpasses the Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of single-core scores. However, the Samsung flagship flips the situation in multi-core with big numbers.
Here’s the difference:
- Apple is 261 points (7.96%) better in Single Core performance
- Samsung is 1744 points (18.62%) better in Multi Core performance
Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is slated to power the Galaxy S25 series internationally. For Samsung, Qualcomm would supply an overclocked variant with a “for Galaxy” title included.
Galaxy AI
Samsung is leading the AI Phone market, thanks to the Galaxy AI suite. As the competition intensified with the entry of Chinese vendors, Samsung would push the AI game further.
Apple Intelligence is nowhere compared to the Galaxy AI feature suite. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will bring significant improvements to AI features and on-device Generative AI capabilities.
Snapdragon 8 Elite helps Android phones run many more AI processing tasks on-device. It not only ramps up AI processing but ensures your privacy and personal data are protected.
One UI 7.1 is rumored to come with new AI-powered features. The existing ones will also be revamped to offer even more seamless experiences on your Galaxy smartphone.
Security Features and Satellite Connectivity
Samsung Knox is a hardware-level security solution coming to the Galaxy S25 series. The majority of Galaxy phones pack this Knox security feature to keep your data and privacy secured.
Satellite Communication feature will also be included on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It’s coming after a long delay as the market is already dominated by Apple, Huawei, and Honor.
Launch and Release Date
Earlier, leaker EvLeaks revealed a possible official Galaxy Unpacked teaser. As per the teaser, Samsung will hold Galaxy Unpacked on January 22, which will bring the Galaxy S25 series.
Korean media outlets report that the event may be held on January 23 (Korean time). The venue is most likely to be San Jose, probably the same location where the S24 series was unveiled last year.
Well, you may need to wait for weeks to get the new smartphone delivered. It is said that the company may start delivering the pre-order units starting February 7, 2025.
