One UI 7: Here is a tiny but important feature you should know
Samsung One UI 7 has many new graphical changes, you have a lot to explore in this new update but there’s one tiny yet noticeable feature that can further improve your user experience. One UI 7: Here is a tiny but important feature you should know.
New Settings Search
Samsung devices come with two settings menus, one is accessible via the Settings app, which contains all of the device’s customizations and services. The other is the quick settings panel, an easy-to-use hub accessible with a swipe gesture from the home screen.
However, quick settings only focus on key features. For example, you can change common display settings such as brightness and dark mode with the quick settings panel and that’s all. Don’t forget, eye care is also part of the quick settings and that’s all.
But the Settings menu will let you access a wide range of display parameters including dark mode settings, brightness control, refresh rate, screen color, font size and style, screen resolution, and much more.
The wide range of features comes with a known challenge. Sometimes, you will have to scroll through the menu to find a feature but this task finds its conclusion with the search bar on top of the settings menu. It saves you a ton of effort and time with just a tap.
It simplifies settings search for a feature with the keyboard or voice input. It not only finds a search but also co-relates other searches with the word (or words) you input in the search bar. That’s what makes the search bar a huge time saver.
The current One UI versions offer a simple interface, allowing you to get things done in no time, which is very good. However, One UI 7 has made this search task a lot better in terms of graphics and accessibility.
This One UI version has redesigned the entire settings menu, which leads us to the settings search. This menu has new elements including better fonts, redesigned recommendations, and simplified the entire selections of things in front of you.
One UI 6 – Settings Search
To dive deeper into these new changes, let’s take a look at One UI 6 and what it has to offer.
The settings search contains text queries inside a rectangular background with round corners. You can clear all recent searches at once or the cross button enable individually. The suggestions section is also shown in a similar manner but with hashtags, which leads you to a new screen with similar tags for different phone settings.
One UI 7 – Settings Search
The new search screen consists of two sections. First is the recent searches, unlike One UI 6, the new software has a list view for all of the recently searched features, each of the listed searches follows a cross icon for individual removal. On top of the recent searches, you will find “Clear all”.
The second half of the screen offers topics. This is a completely new approach to pre-defined searches for essential settings. However, the look is way better than the previous One UI version. The topics section has two columns with icons and labels for bookmarks, which reshuffle each time you launch the settings search.
You can tap on any of these topics and it will show related features in the search.
To be mentioned, the new and old settings search feature lets you turn off the recent search section.
Conclusion
Samsung One UI 7 has changed the way to search for a feature, the recent search searches and suggestions are more visible and sorted compared to One UI 6. Hence, it improved the overall experience for new and existing One UI users.
