Samsung Galaxy S22 December 2024 update

One UI 6.1.1 bricked some Galaxy S22 smartphones. Samsung is aware of this problem but there’s no official support provided so far. Well, some Samsung users reported that freezing dead Galaxy S22 could fix the bootloop issue.

Galaxy S22 affected by bootloop issue requires the motherboard replacement. It costs nearly half of the phone’s purchase price, which doesn’t make sense in 2025. As the phone is dead, affected users trying every possible trick.

Surprisingly, freezing a dead Galaxy S22 reportedly fixed the bootloop problem, for some users. Some users reported on Reddit and Community forums that they’ve got the issue addressed using this age-old hack.

Freezing a dead phone could revive it for a while as the issue could re-appear as soon as the phone enters a working state and internal hardware components heat up again, resulting in a reversal to the dead state.

Well, freezing electronics isn’t a quite new method, but it has been used to revive dying hardware since the early 2000s. Freezing the metal components in the motherboard to contract, thus re-establishing contact between solder pads.

Opt for it only when you have no other choice but to get the phone repaired. We strongly recommend avoiding such dangerous practices. You should reach out to Samsung Support and demand a free repair if it is a software-generated problem.

You can also contact your locality’s authorized Samsung service center to know possible options. In some cases, service center operators provide sleek discounts or discounted out-of-warranty repairs to revive expensive dead products.
