Samsung could be unveiling the Galaxy S25 series on January 22 in the US. A teaser may drop out soon and pre-reservations would also kick off. There are noteworthy upgrades in the Samsung Galaxy S25 but also reasons to skip this flagship.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Reasons to Skip

Galaxy S25 will be the compact flagship with a small size and powerful specs. The device will have a decent camera setup, Qualcomm’s fastest processor, an appealing design and S25 Ultra-equivalent Galaxy AI features.

Let’s discuss the top 5 reasons to pass on the S25.

Uninspiring design choices

Samsung is opting to continue its signature design philosophy for the fourth time in a row. The Galaxy S23 series debuted an island-less camera design, which would be seen on the S25 as well.

The phone’s frame could be inspired by Apple’s iPhone models but it doesn’t make much impact. From the front to back and sides to bottom, the S25 looks a lot similar to its predecessors.

Old main, ultrawide and telephoto sensors

Samsung Galaxy S25 will use a 50-megapixel primary, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, a 10-megapixel telephoto with 3x optical and 30x digital zoom, and a 12-megapixel selfie snapper.

You won’t believe, the primary, ultrawide, and telephoto sensors of the Galaxy S25 are just a replacement of what Samsung installed in the Galaxy S22, way back in early 2022.

4000mAh battery & slow 25W charging

The Galaxy S25 will be packed with a battery of 4000mAh capacity. The phone belongs to a flagship segment and a 4000mAh battery in 2025 sounds a bit weird.

Note: Battery life doesn’t solely depend on capacity.

Samsung’s S23 had a 3785mAh battery, which jumped to 4000mAh in the last year’s S24. Well, the charging aspect remains unchanged at 25W, which is the biggest reason to skip the S25.

S25 Slim on horizon

Samsung is working on a thinner Galaxy S25 with specs better than the S25 Plus. It would feature a sleek design, an upgraded 3.5x Telephoto camera, and a nearly 4700mAh battery.

The company is expected to tease the S25 Slim or SE at the Unpacked later this month. The Slim’s global availability would significantly make an impact on the initial S25 and S25 Plus sales.
