One UI 7’s Camera Share feature turns your phone into a webcam

Samsung’s upcoming One UI 7 update is bringing a cool new feature called Camera Share. This feature lets you use your Galaxy phone’s camera as a webcam for your Galaxy Book laptop. It is similar to One UI 6.1’s Camera-sharing feature of Galaxy tablets, but now it works with Galaxy Books too.

The Camera Share feature is currently under development and could be released next year, however, a well-known tipster has shared its glimpse.

According to the information, Galaxy Book users can use the Camera Share feature to enjoy better video quality during video calls by using their phone’s camera, which is often better than the built-in webcam on laptops.

The Camera Share app has a simple interface to make it easy to turn the feature on and off, see available devices, and log into your Samsung account. For the feature to work, both your phone and laptop need to be connected to the same Samsung account.

Aside from this, a Microsoft Store page for Camera Share is already set up, but it’s not live yet. The app is expected to be available shortly after the Galaxy S25 launch in late January 2024. It will also work with the Galaxy S24 series and other devices that get the One UI 7 update.

Camera Share works with any app that uses a webcam or camera, including Windows’ built-in Camera app. This means you can use it with video calling apps. However, the feature is still under development and will be released soon.
