After two beta updates, Samsung is preparing to release One UI 7 Beta 3 for the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung’s One UI 7 update has brought some exciting changes, including support for faster Ethernet speeds.

With the One UI 7 Beta update, the maximum Ethernet speeds supported by some Samsung devices have been increased from 1Gbps to 2.5Gbps. This improvement is currently available for the Galaxy S24 series, mainly spotted in the Galaxy S24 Ultra by Reddit user CreaGab1.

A user has tested Ethernet speed on two Galaxy S24 Ultra devices – one running the older One UI 6.1 version and the other with the new One UI 7.0. Using a SABRENT USB-C to 2.5 Gbps Ethernet LAN Adapter, he found that the device with One UI 7.0 achieved the faster 2.5Gbps speed, while the device with One UI 6.1 either didn’t work or had much slower speeds.

This feature is useful for those who prefer using a wired Ethernet connection over Wi-Fi. While the Galaxy S24 already supports fast Wi-Fi 6E/Wi-Fi 7, this new option provides even faster and more reliable internet speeds for tasks like gaming, streaming, or downloading large files.

Right now, the improved Ethernet speed is only available on the Galaxy S24 series, but there’s a chance it could be extended to other Samsung phones and tablets in the future. Samsung Galaxy Devices with a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port may soon be able to take advantage of these faster speeds.

With the One UI 7 update, Samsung has made wired internet connections faster and more reliable. Hopefully, this feature will be available on more Samsung devices with a stable One UI 7.x update. The company is reportedly preparing One UI 7.1 update to launch with the Galaxy S25 series.
