Galaxy S25 series could introduce Car Crash Detection feature
Samsung Galaxy S25 series features a Car Crash Detection sensor onboard. The sensor is intended to help you in case of an accident or car crash. It is available on Pixel phones, but it hasn’t been seen on other premium Android phones.
AndroidAuthority accessed leaked data, confirming the existence of a Car Crash Detection sensor in the Galaxy S25 series. The sensor is used in several previous flagships too but the feature remains to become functional through software tweaks.
Samsung continues to install a car crash sensor in its flagship smartphone range. This is the same car crash sensor spotted on the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and possibly the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 devices.
It is said that Samsung’s Car Crash Detect Wakeup sensor is a composite sensor. Being a virtual sensor, it processes and fuses data from underlying physical sensors. One UI 5.1.1’s “MoccaMobile” contained code for starting and stopping the car crash sensor.
As the feature remained hidden in previous models, there’s hope that Samsung would finally bring it to Galaxies with One UI 7.1 update. However, we need to wait till the official launch and our hands on to confirm the feature’s existence.
Google equipped Pixel phones with a handful of life-saving features. Car Crash Detection also remains an underrated feature, but it would become a boon in case your car gets accidental by informing your family.
Samsung Galaxy S25 series will likely be introduced on January 22 in the US.
