Samsung Galaxy A56 to launch with NFC payments feature
Samsung Galaxy A56 5G has surfaced on the EMVCo database with NFC. The smartphone will be capable of contactless payments using NFC technology. The listing follows the recent appearance on 3C and Geekbench.
According to the info, Samsung Galaxy A56 5G will have NFC technology. Listing on the EMVCo database confirmed the existence of the device with a crucial contactless payments solution ahead of the tentative March 2025 launch.
EMVCo database listed Samsung’s SM-A566B/DS which is the model number of the Galaxy A56 5G. The device has been certified with the approval number – ‘MTA_LOA_SAEL_05323’ and is valid for NFC payments till December 2027.
The certification also confirms the Galaxy A56 will come with Android 15-based One UI 7 pre-installed. However, it was already confirmed in the Geekbench listing alongside 2.91GHz Exynos 1580, Xclipse 540 GPU, and 8GB RAM.
Interestingly, Samsung is expected to bring 45W fast charging support to the phone. The Galaxy A55 supports fast charging up to 25W and an upgrade to 45W is a noteworthy development, while the battery capacity remains 5000mAh.
Leaked CAD renders of the device revealed a fresh new design philosophy. The A56 will have a vertical camera island to feature its three camera sensors. Outside the island, there will be an LED flashlight placed for lowlight photography.
On the front, you will get a premium experience with bezels gone significantly thinner. The chin, meanwhile, will be slightly thicker than the bezels. The frame would also feel handy while using the device for longer timespan or during gameplay.
Samsung may launch the Galaxy A56 in March 2025.
