Battery Settings: What’s new in Samsung One UI 7
Samsung One UI 7 features may change your Galaxy device’s battery life and software is also shipping with a few additions in the power section that could optimize the overall user experience.
These new changes will appear in the Settings menu and here’s what’ve found compelling in One UI 7.
Battery protection is the area where two new upgrades are made. This setting gives you options to protect your phone’s battery instead of keeping it at 100% and improving its life span. It has three options:
- Basic
- Adaptive
- Maximum
While these options are available in One UI 6.1 and prior, One UI 7 has the following changes.
Adaptive
The software has added a new adaptive mode in the Battery protection settings. It will stop charging the phone at 80% when you’re sleeping but switch to Basic before you wake up. With adaptive mode enabled, the phone will estimate sleep time based on your phone usage patterns.
Basic Mode – When your device battery is charged to 100% charging will stop until the battery level drops down to 95% and then charging will start again.
Maximum (custom)
One UI 7 will allow you to change the max charging level up to 95%. Compared to this, One UI 6 and prior versions only had a preset maximum charging ceiling of 80%.
With this upgrade, you can set the max limit between 80%, 85%, 90% and 95%.
Auto dim screen
Battery settings also added an “auto dim screen”, once enabled, the option will let the phone dim the screen when the battery falls below 5%. This action will save the extra every bit of power consumed by the display brightness to extend the battery life.
