High-ranking Samsung official reportedly confirmed the Exynos 2500 will skip the Galaxy S25 series. Credible source TheElec revealed this official confirmation, citing the Exynos 2500 is getting ready for the next-gen foldable.

According to the info, Samsung is expected to use Exynos 2500 in the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The official also confirmed that this processor will enter mass production next year. This will be the first time the Galaxy foldable phone will use Exynos.

Notably, the System LSI Division had aimed to supply Exynos 2500 for the Galaxy S25 series. However, the company has shifted gears and planning to install the chip in the Galaxy Z Flip 7, releasing in H2 next year.

This could be because Samsung’s 3nm (2nd-gen) process has stabilized to some extent. It will also break Qualcomm’s monopoly, which has been dominating Samsung’s foldable smartphone segment for a couple of years.

The Korean tech giant could produce 229.4 million phones next year, with flagship models like the Z Flip 7 making up only 3 million units, just 1%. The more affordable Z Flip FE will account for only 0.4%, or 900,000 units.

There were indeed difficulties in reaching GAA mass production, and a lot of effort went into it, they said. But we’ll only know for sure once the product actually comes out. It’s clear that Samsung Electronics is losing ground in the foundry market.

TheElec rep. notes that “I’ve heard there were discussions like whether it was the design (System LSI Division) or the manufacturing (Foundry Division) that was at fault. Now, they said they decided to cooperate, hoping for the business to succeed, and they will aim to create synergies.”
