Samsung has already started the One UI 7 beta testing program for the latest Galaxy S-series devices. It’s almost the end of 2024, now the question is, when will we see the stable One UI 7 update on our Galaxy devices? Here’s what you need to know.

The stable One UI 7 release timeline is closely linked to the launch of Samsung’s next flagship lineup, the Galaxy S25 series. According to recent leaks, we are looking at a Galaxy S25 launch event on January 22, 2025. This new flagship series will come with One UI 7 pre-installed.

But here’s the catch for those not upgrading to the S25: if you’re holding onto your Galaxy S24 or earlier models, you won’t be getting the stable One UI 7 update in January. The stable update for existing devices, including the S24 series which is currently in beta testing and has received two beta builds in the US, is expected to start rolling out in early February 2025.

Samsung typically uses the launch of new devices to debut major software updates, giving priority to the latest devices. After the launch, the stable update slowly rolls out to other eligible Galaxy phones. This means that after the S25 gets its taste of One UI 7, devices like the S24 series will follow suit, with the rollout to other models coming in stages.

So, while the S25 will get all the cool new stuff from One UI 7, we will have to wait a bit if we don’t have one.
