Charging Animation: What’s new in Samsung One UI 7
Samsung One UI 7 has overhauled many UI elements reflecting majorly on the new Charging animation, making it more interesting than the predecessor.
The concept of showing a charging indicator goes back to the very beginning when smartphones were packed with a new charging brick.
Initially, the charging icon was used to only show the battery level. This icon evolved with new Android versions and continues software development. Samsung modified the One UI and added dynamic charging animation with a few more details.
These animations appear for a few seconds after plugging the charger into the smartphone. Afterward, the screen turns to usual. Despite this short animation, the visual change improves your interactions with the device.
This practice has been adopted widely in the Android ecosystem but One UI 7 took it to the next level. Let’s check what’s heading our way with the next major software update.
One UI 6
When you plug the charger (device locked), One UI 6 blurs the background and focuses on the charging animation UI. That includes a circular progress bar with blue and cyan colors. Inside the circle, the UI integrates a text label for charging percent and a power icon.
Note – the screen doesn’t blur when the phone is unlocked.
Post animation, the lock screen shows a text label with estimated charging time and current battery level. One more thing, this text mentions “Super fast charging” when you use a fast charger.
One UI 7
This software has enabled two different animations for the lock and home screens.
Unlock
This part of the animation uses the battery icon. Once plugged in, the battery icon turns green and expands a “Charging” text animation from the left towards the right and reverts after 2 seconds.
Unlike One UI 6, this animation is dynamic and doesn’t block the screen when triggered.
Locked
This is where things get more interesting. Samsung has utilized Now Bar to show the charging status and battery level. This feature is designed to show key information about system apps without unlocking the device.
However, Samsung has made some special optimizations to the charging animation compared to other Now Bar supported apps and services. These reflect the unique progress bar with a green color.
After the animation disappears, the screen goes back to the charging text label and shows insight into the estimated time and charging level.
Conclusion
Samsung One UI 7 has improved charging animation with new elements and UI. It is a significant leap in user experience even though it’s a system statics feature.
