One UI 7 Edge Panels

Based on Android 15, Samsung One UI 7 Beta introduces several new features and improvements, with a notable change to the Edge Panels. The Edge Panels feature allows users to quickly access favorite apps, tools, widgets, weather, contacts, calculator, and more with just a simple swipe from the edge of the screen. Let’s explore what has changed with the One UI 7 update to Edge Panels.

End of Support for Downloading Edge Panels

One of the most notable changes in One UI 7 is the end of support for downloading new Edge Panels from the Galaxy Store. In the past, users could visit the Galaxy Store to download additional Edge Panels, but with One UI 7, this option has been removed.

When accessing the Panels settings, users will now only see preloaded panels such as Apps, People, Tasks, Weather, Tools, Reminder, and Clipboard. These panels come pre-loaded, and users can easily apply them without needing to download anything further.

However, the previously available option to download new panels from the Galaxy Store, located at the bottom of the screen, is no longer present.

What happens to existing Edge Panels:

If users have already downloaded additional Edge Panels before the One UI 7 update, they can still access them through the My Apps section of the Galaxy Store. It’s important to note that once an Edge Panel is uninstalled, it cannot be re-downloaded.

Customization Options

While you can no longer download new panels with the latest iteration of One UI, you can still reorder your Edge Panels, hide them on the lock screen, and customize the Edge Panel handle.

Panels

  • From here, you can add different panels like Apps, Edge People, Smart Select, Tasks, Weather, Reminder, Tools, and Clipboard.

Handles

  • You can change the position of the handle, color, size, width, and transparency. You can also turn on the Lock Handle position toggle to lock the position of the Edge Panel Handle.

Enable Edge Panels:

To add Edge Panels to your Samsung devices, you just need to follow a few steps. First, Open Settings >>Tap on Display >> Scroll down and select Edge Panels, and turn it on. From there, you can select which panels you want to use and customize how they work.

Note: The One UI 7 update is currently in the Beta phase, so Samsung may make additional changes in upcoming Beta releases or with the final stable version.
