WhatsApp has rolled out a new update for Android, which brings a handy new feature that allows users to star channel updates. The new update is available with version 2.24.26.18 via the Google Play Beta Program.

The fresh update introduces a new feature that lets users mark specific updates from channels they follow as “starred.” This will make it easier to save and quickly find important updates like announcements or event details.

Right now, users can only star messages in individual and group chats, but with this update, WhatsApp is adding the ability to do the same with channel updates. Once a user stars an update, they can easily access it later without having to scroll through the entire channel history.

To use this feature, users need to follow a channel first. Once followed, users can star updates they find important. If a user unfollows a channel, all starred updates from that channel will be removed from their list.

In addition to this, WhatsApp is also working on other improvements as well, such as automatic message translation to make communication easier for people around the world.

Currently, the Star Channel Updates feature is in development and is available in the latest beta version of WhatsApp. It will be rolled out to more users in the near future. Keep an eye on future updates as WhatsApp continues to improve the app.
