There’s a lot of talk about whether Samsung will expand the One UI 7 beta program to more Galaxy devices. Having followed Samsung’s software updates closely for years, I think I can shed some light on what might happen next.

As of now, the One UI 7 beta is only available for the Galaxy S24 series in countries like Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US. It brings many new features, from a fresh look to smarter AI capabilities and better security.

Before we talk about expanding the One UI 7 beta, remember how the One UI 6 beta was? It covered lots of devices, even including mid-range models like the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72.

If we go back in time, Samsung tends to expand the One UI beta programs to other flagship devices. We could see the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, the entire S23 series, and perhaps even the Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 getting the One UI 7 beta update too. But, since One UI 7 will go official with the Galaxy S25 next year, the beta program might only include a few devices to keep things simple.

There’s a high chance we will see a speedy One UI 7 rollout for the eligible beta devices after the Galaxy S25 launch, as the device will come with pre-installed stable One UI 7, based on Android 15. This is how Samsung does things now, not making beta programs too long when new phones are coming.

The reason we are looking at a shortened One UI 7 beta program is due to the delays we have encountered. This year’s beta rollout hasn’t been on time, and because of that, it’s doubtful we’ll see One UI 7 beta for many different Samsung devices.

It’s worth pointing out that Samsung hasn’t confirmed any plans to extend the One UI 7 beta beyond the Galaxy S24 series yet. So, all this is based on past behavior and current trends in software development.

While we wait to see if Samsung expands the beta, it’s a good time to prepare your device for updates. Back up your data, and keep your apps updated.

If you have a Galaxy S24 and are currently in one of the beta countries, you are already enjoying the latest features of the One UI 7 update. For everyone else, patience is your best decision. Keep checking SammyFans.com for the latest on Samsung’s software updates.

What is One UI 7 Beta program?

The One UI 7 Beta Program is Samsung’s way of allowing users to preview, test, and provide feedback on a pre-release version of its One UI 7 software update, which is built on top of Android 15.

The beta program initially rolled out in select countries including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US. The One UI 7 introduces a revamped user interface, new AI functionalities, enhanced security features, and possibly other software improvements. Some key enhancements include:

  • A new dynamic “Now Bar” on the lock screen for quick access to features like Music, Stopwatch, and more.
  • AI-powered writing tools for text summarization, spell checking, and formatting into bullet points.
  • Redesigned system icons, widgets, and camera interface for a more intuitive user experience.

The purpose of this beta program is to gather user feedback on bugs, performance issues, and user experience to improve the software before its stable release early next year with the Galaxy S25 series.

You can join the beta program by registering through the Samsung Members app. There’s a risk involved as beta software might be unstable or have some serious bugs, so participants are advised to back up their data before installation.
