Samsung One UI 7 Quick Panel

Samsung One UI 7.0 introduces a heavily redesigned Quick Panel. The company has invested pretty much time in making that particular aspect unbeatable. The redesign alone makes One UI 7 superior to its Android skin counterparts.

One UI 7.0 Quick Panel brings a fresh new look, integrates elegant animations, adopts large buttons, enhanced media management, vibrant colors, a dedicated Smart Devices section, and an easier Smart View toggle for Samsung devices.

There’s pretty much to explore about the new Quick Panel for Galaxy devices, let’s begin.

Fresh New Look

Quick Panel got a brand new look in the latest One UI iteration. The interface contains a mixture of Pixel’s Android and Galaxy’s One UI. In terms of usability, the new design leaves stock Android and other rival skins in the dust.

The panel includes four dedicated sections of different sizes. By default, the first row keeps large Wi-Fi and Bluetooth icons. Next, you get a large expandable section that brings all the useful icons in a 2×4 layout.

The third section brings two sliders and two toggles for display and sound settings. Samsung is currently experimenting with which slider to be placed above, (and you can submit your preference through the Samsung Members app).

The last row matches the first in terms of size and layout but holds SmartThings (Device control) and Smart View (Mirror screen) icons. The media player will push down that last section if music is being played on the smartphone.

Android-inspired Tiles and Large Buttons

One UI 6 also debuted a fresh new Quick Panel, which was a foundation for this year’s major redesign. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth tiles remain intact (placement and size), while the changes are in shape, curves, colors, and size.

The One UI 7 brings stock Android-like large tiles for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, placed at the top. The pill keeps dedicated toggles accompanied by labels. Tapping the toggle triggers the function immediately and the label expands a pop-up window.

Samsung has also enlarged the icons in Quick Panel by removing their labels. This way, the software renders it even easier to access and navigate. The appearance has also become more neat and clean as well as nicely organized.

Quick Panel Customization

Customizable Quick Panel is one of the best decisions of Samsung in One UI 7. The never-editable cards can now be placed as per individual’s preference.

The UI starts with two little pills entitled Panel Settings and Done. You can easily drag and drop the section you want to reposition such as bringing the SmartThings and Smart View at the top.

Meanwhile, you need to reposition the entire card, not separate icons or toggles. For instance, you can not separate Volume and Brightness sliders to position alone.

Quick Settings within the Quick Panel can be tweaked the same way as the One UI 6. The section renders as a preview and the latter page holds the remaining icons. The blur engine makes the overall look even more appealing than the previous version.

Samsung has also changed the placement of the Reset and Done buttons from the bottom in One UI 6 to the top in One UI 7. This move makes accessing the buttons tougher but creates an extra place for the remaining toggle section.

Music player card and media management

The Music player card within the Quick Panel is not the next level in Samsung One UI 7. This makes the previous One UI 6 Media player card completely outdated.

Be it color selection, blur control, or media management, the One UI 7’s Media player card is just stunning, here are the key findings in side by side comparison:

  • New media player brings rich visuals and looks appealing.
  • There are allthe necessary toggles to control the playback.
  • The increased curves make the shape match the overall user interface.

Smart devices and Smart View

These options allow seamless operations across Galaxy ecosystem products. SmartThings doesn’t require any description and Samsung continues to elevate connected experiences.

The placement of SmartThings reiterates Samsung’s ambitions to uplevel the experience. The Smart View toggle can mirror your Galaxy screen to your Smart TV and Monitors.

One UI 6 vs One UI 7

Samsung’s One UI 6 was a nice appetizer before the One UI 7 meal. The company dropped some notable UI changes on heavy demand and criticism. However, Samsung nailed it with the One UI 7 regarding design and usability.

One UI 7 maintains the structure and elegance of Samsung’s design philosophy. The biggest areas of improvement include an intelligent blur system, curved shapes across the OS, a user-centric approach in mind, and effortless navigation.

One UI 7 Release Date

One UI 7 is set to launch on January 22 in the US. Samsung may share a rollout plan at Galaxy Unpacked next month. The company has already announced that the new firmware will be generally available by the end of the first quarter.

The software is available for Beta testing on the Galaxy S24 series in select markets. The Program may expand to more flagship models in the next few weeks. You can access the latest and authentic insights on SammyFans here.
