Samsung Display is collaborating with Dolby Vision to transform in-car entertainment. The company today announced that it signed an MoU with Dolby Vision to jointly promote its premium high dynamic range video technology.

According to KEDGlobal, Samsung, and Dolby united to promote Dolby’s HDR video tech along with optimized automotive OLED displays. We may hear more about this newly formed collaboration at the CES 2025 in early January.

The company tech giant believes that if automobile manufacturers adopt Samsung OLED for Dolby Vision, the evaluation certification process will be simplified, leading to a significant reduction in evaluation time.

Choi Yong-seok, executive director of sales at Samsung Display, said, “Through our collaboration with Dolby, Samsung will solidify its technology leadership in the automotive display market,” adding, “We will set a new standard for automotive display quality and provide. the best driving experience for drivers and passengers.”

It is reported that the Korean display maker is aiming to establish a next-gen automotive OLED experience space at CES 2025, the world’s largest IT and consumer electronics exhibition, to be held in Las Vegas, US, in January next year.

Andre Erett, senior director of the automotive institutional sector at Dolby Laboratories, noted, “Automobiles have transformed from mere means of transportation into another space where passengers can enjoy various forms of entertainment,” and added, “I am very pleased that the industry- leading OLED completed with Samsung Display’s technology and Dolby Vision, which provides vibrant visuals, can deliver an immersive in-vehicle entertainment experience to more customers.”
