Samsung to make 5x more Galaxy S25 than Z Flip 7
Samsung to prioritize the Galaxy S25 over the Z Flip 7 in terms of production. The company appears to be returning to traditional form factors due to lower-than-expected response from the foldable segment.
A new leak (via Jukanlosreve) talks about production volume for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Flip 7. While the company is raising Galaxy S25 production over its predecessor, it’s just the opposite case with the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The leaked production plan suggests that Samsung plans to produce 14.8 million units of the Galaxy S25, 6.6 million units of the S25 Plus, and 16 million units of the S25 Ultra as well as 3 million units of the Z Flip 7.
Samsung’s 2025 Smartphone Production Targets
- Galaxy S25 Series: 37.4 million units
- Galaxy S25: 14.8 million units
- Galaxy S25 Plus: 6.6 million units
- Galaxy S25 Ultra: 16 million units
- Galaxy Z Flip 7: 3 million units
This production strategy suggests that Samsung could focus more on traditional phones in 2025. This could reflect Samsung’s strategy to balance innovation with foldables and maintain strong sales with conventional models.
Samsung killed its iconic Note lineup to bring the Fold to its mainstream. The company has significantly raised its presence in the smartphone market. However, it is not enough to fill the gap created by static sales of regular flagships.
Apple’s late entry is also making a negative impact on the foldable segment. The iPhone maker is still away from making foldable iPhones. That made Samsung a leader in the market, but intense challenges are now coming from China.
Samsung could launch the Galaxy S25 series on January 22 next year. The event will be held in the United States, and while venue could be from San Francisco or San Jose. Check out the latest news and insights on the Galaxy S25 series here.
