Leaked Samsung Galaxy S25+ live images reveal mmWave antenna placement
Samsung Unpacked is over a month away and the first live images of Galaxy S25 Plus have just been revealed. The fresh set of pictures not only exposes the phone’s design but also showcases the mmWave antenna placement.
Leaked live images reveal the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus US carrier-locked model. There’s a dedicated mmWave antenna beside the power key on the middle frame. At first glance, it appears a camera controller but it isn’t that.
Well, the photos give us a good look at the upcoming flagship. The phone has thin symmetrical bezels around the screen. The front side looks quite premium, even on the test unit, which could also be a nearly final prototype.
The rear panel brings triple camera sensors, placed independently. There’s no dedicated camera island to boast the sensors. Next to the vertically aligned camera sensors is an LED flash that you can use in night photography and as a torch.
A dedicated mmWave antenna suggests that a physical SIM slot may be removed. The company may go with all eSIM features on the Galaxy S25 series. The decision may be deployed at least in the US given installing a mmWave antenna on the frame.
Apple ditched the SIM card slot in iPhone 14 and later models in the US. Newer iPhones only support eSIM configuration for network services. Hence, a similar move in the next-gen Galaxy flagships is most likely in the United States.
Samsung is rumored to hold a Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22 next year. The event might be held in San Francisco, and new XR products may also be teased. As rumored, there’s no price hike likely in the upcoming phones.
