December 2024 security update hitting Galaxy S21 series in the US

Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphone users are getting a December 2024 security update in the US. This update installs the latest Android security patch to improve system security and stability.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series are getting a December 2024 security update in the US with the One UI build version mentioned below.

  • G991USQSEGXK3 – Galaxy S21
  • G996USQSEGXK3 – Galaxy S21 Plus
  • G998USQSEGXK3 – Galaxy S21 Ultra

December 2024 security patch fixes over 45  vulnerabilities, 6 critical and 28 high-level fixes from Google. Additionally, one previously resolved issue has been readdressed, and another is not relevant to Samsung devices. On the Samsung side, 2 high-level vulnerabilities in its semiconductor products have been patched.

Moreover, the update also includes 8 fixes listed under Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE), focusing on the Theme Center, Galaxy Watch Bluetooth functionality, SmartSwitch, and Dex Mode.

To check the update, you just need to navigate to the device’s Settings, then a Software update, and Download and install. If you have received the update, install it now to get enhanced features.

Aside from this, Samsung is currently working on One UI 7 Beta, and Galaxy S24 users are testing new features and enhancements. The company will releasea stable update with the Galaxy S25 series next year.
