December 2024 update for Galaxy S23 series brings advanced Auto Blocker
Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra users are getting a December 2024 security update. Based on One UI 6.1, the new update brings a new Auto Blocker feature to enhance the security of the device.
December 2024 security update for the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is currently live in Europe and the company will expand it soon in more countries. It is a gradual rollout so it may take hours or days to reach all models.
The new update arrives with a new Auto Blocker feature. When you turn this on and set it to Maximum restrictions, your phone will only allow USB connections for charging. This means that other devices won’t be able to connect to your phone via USB, which helps protect your data if someone has physical access to your device.
While this feature provides extra-strong security, it will limit some of your phone’s functions. For example, you won’t be able to transfer files between your phone and other devices using a USB cable.
Moreover, the update installs the latest Android security patch to improve system security and stability to enhance overall performance. The December 2024 security patch fixes over 45 issues including Google’s high-level CVEs and Samsung SVEs.
Users can verify the update through the One UI build versions given below:
- S911BXXS7CXK6 – Galaxy S23
- S916BXXS7CXK6 – Galaxy S23 Plus
- S918BXXS7CXK6 – Galaxy S23 Ultra
Samsung users can check new software updates manually with a handful of simple steps. Firstly, visit your Galaxy device’s “System Settings,” once done, scroll down and tap the “Software update” tab, followed by the “Download and install” button.
