Report: Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim with Plus display set for limited Q2 2025 release
Samsung’s Slim S25 has again emerged in discussion after a long silence. A new report discusses the potential release date of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, as well as the possible display size and limited-quantity production.
ETNews reports that the Galaxy S25 Slim could produce only 3 million units. Samsung may release the Galaxy S25 Slim in Q2 2025. The company is aiming to experiment with the design by capping production to 3 million.
Samsung is said to be adopting a cautious approach since this model features a design not seen before. Given that it’s a form factor that neither Samsung nor its competitors have introduced, they are carefully assessing market reaction.
We haven’t heard any key details when it comes to S25 Slim specs. Well, the report suggests that the Slim flagship could have a 6.7-inch (6.66″) screen, the same as the S25 Plus. Hopefully, the panel will be as premium as the S25 Plus.
Here’s what is possible:
- Display Size: 6.7 inches (sometimes referred to as 6.66 inches but marketed as 6.7 inches)
- Display Type: Dynamic AMOLED
- Resolution: QHD+ (1440 x 3120 pixels), offering approx 513 pixels per inch
- Refresh Rate: 120Hz, which ensures a smooth visual experience
The Galaxy Slim model’s display size is identified as 6.66 inches, similar to the size of the Plus model. The display sizes for the Galaxy S25 series are 6.16 inches for the standard, 6.66 inches for the Plus, and 6.86 inches for the Ultra.
The report suggests that the Korean tech giant plans to cap production at 3 million units of the Galaxy Slim model. The intention is to measure market response given that it aims for a different design and form factor from existing products.
An industry insider stated, “The biggest feature of the Slim model is the change in the arrangement of internal components,” adding, “Optimizing the smartphone’s thickness to match the thick and hard-to-redesign battery is the core of the design and development process.”
The Galaxy S25 series is expected to be announced in late January next year, with the Slim model to be released separately afterward. As new foldables launch in the third quarter, the Slim model could go on sale starting in Q2 2025.
