Here’s how to keep your Galaxy Watch 4/5/6 workout screen active
Many Samsung Galaxy Watch 4/5/6 series users have encountered an issue where the exercise screen doesn’t stay on during workouts, switching back to the watch screen. This issue is causing frustration among users, especially when users want to keep track of their progress in the middle of their workout.
Samsung has acknowledged the issue and shared that the root cause of this problem is in the notification settings for the Samsung Health app on your Galaxy Watch running Google Wear OS 5.0. With the Wear OS, Google has upgraded its notification policy, which is causing issues on Galaxy Watch 4/5/6.
When the notification setting for the Samsung Health app is Off, the watch screen switches to the home screen during workouts. The ‘Workout in progress’ icon does not appear at the bottom center of the screen due to the disabled setting.
Fortunately, this issue can be resolved by making sure that notifications for the Samsung Health app are enabled. For that, make sure your watch and phone are connected. Now, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone and go to Watch Settings >> go to Notifications >> select App notifications >> turn on Samsung Health.
To allow notifications on Samsung Watch Health, you just need to follow a few steps. From the watch home screen, swipe down and select the Settings icon. Now, Go to Apps >> select App List >> Select the Samsung Health app >> go to Permissions and make sure Notifications are allowed.
By following these steps, your exercise screen will stay on during your workouts to make it easier to track your progress.
