One UI 7 Quick Panel

Samsung evolved the Quick Settings Panel throughout the One UI 7 Beta testing. While the software is still yet to be released, the changes are almost finalized. In a recent leak video, we’ve seen the latest status of Quick Panel.

Before we jump into the details, do note that the quick panel in One UI 7 is going to be radically redesigned as compared to the One UI 6. The notification section has gone independent, letting users access the interface with ease.

Samsung first showcased the One UI 7 at CodeLabs during SDC24. Videos surfaced online shed light on the redesigned quick panel. Well, things are not the same as shown early last month, with tweaks that took over the initial design.

The initial version of Quick Panel debuted a fresh new look compared to the One UI 6. The first two toggles match with stock Android’s look. Later, there’s an expandable section for key toggles, followed by two overlays for display and speaker settings.

In a recent development, IceUniverse leaked animation of One UI 7 through a video clip. It was observed that the Quick Settings panel has the same interface as revealed by the YouTube channel MobileWalaBhai.

Samsung has fueled Quick Panel with customization functionalities. The sections in One UI 7 Quick Settings can be re-positioned altogether. It’s a great move, letting Galaxy users modify the panel and sections as per their preference.

Samsung One UI 7 Messages app

Samsung One UI 7 is adopting Android 15’s App Archive feature. Galaxy smartphone users can save storage space by archiving unused applications. It allows you to save storage even without completely uninstalling the app.

One UI 7 Beta is available in IceUniverse discovered App Archiving feature. Samsung will push the public rollout early next year. However, you can have a preview of what the feature functions in the X post embedded below.

Samsung’s latest software has a host of exciting features for users to explore. Among these is the App Archiving feature, which promises to help users better manage storage space on their devices while keeping the app data stored.

Simply put, App Archiving will let you free up space by temporarily removing unused apps. When an app is archived, its software, permissions, temporary files, and notifications are cleared, but the app icon and data remain intact.

When needed, you can easily restore the app without losing your personal settings or progress. Considering you have downloaded a big game but haven’t played it in months, you can archive it to save storage while keeping your saved game progress safe.

How it can be accessed?

You can easily archive apps by following simple steps, however, enabling auto-archiving would make things even better.

Manual Archiving:

  • Open the app settings
Select the app you want to archive
  • Tap the archive option.

The app’s icon will appear dimmed with an archiving symbol, indicating it has been stored away.

Automatic Archiving:

Enable automatic app archiving in the Play Store to allow the system to handle unused apps on your behalf. This can save storage proactively without you needing to manage it yourself.

Restoring Archived Apps

  • Tap the dimmed app icon, and the system will reinstall it.

Ensure enough storage is available to avoid any interruptions.

The adoption of Android 15’s App Archive feature demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to leveraging the latest innovations. It sounds less interesting but you would end up loving it as it has practical advantages for your device’s storage.

Samsung One UI 7 Audio Eraser

Samsung is developing a Galaxy AI-powered Audio Eraser feature in One UI 7. The company has already released the first beta firmware for Galaxy S24 series owners but it doesn’t bring intelligent such functionality.

Galaxy AI is getting major upgrades in One UI 7 and Samsung is reportedly crafting another cool feature called Audio Eraser. It seems the internal build contains an Audio Eraser but is not available in the public Beta.

As previewed by IceUniverse/Weibo, Audio Eraser helps you eliminate distracting noise in videos by adjusting the volume of voices, wind, and other sounds.

Notably, Google launched the same feature with the Pixel 8 series last year. It seems Pixel’s AI innovation is expanding to Galaxy devices as part of the One UI 7 upgrade.

The feature’s preview displays four different volume adjustment sliders. These components will help you adjust the speaker’s audio along with other noise such as wind and music.

Galaxy phones come with top-notch camera hardware and capabilities. Audio Eraser will be a quite useful feature for creators who rely on Galaxy smartphones to record their videos.

The feature is expected to be readily available in the Gallery application. The Studio functionality would allow you to utilize Audio Eraser to remove unwanted noise from the video recorded.

Audio Eraser is just a piece of Galaxy AI’s feature suite. Samsung may have even more excellent features to be distributed to Galaxy smartphone users with the Stable One UI 7 update.

Beta Program is live and you can access the preview of One UI 7 in select countries. Meanwhile, you need to wait till February 2025 to get the official upgrade of One UI 7 for your Galaxy.
