Samsung is working on a new on-device voicemail feature for Galaxy phones, and it looks a lot like Apple’s Live Voicemail from iOS 17. This feature is currently being tested in the One UI 8 beta, but it hasn’t been officially released yet.

With this new feature, Galaxy users may soon be able to store voicemails directly on their phones, instead of using their mobile carrier’s voicemail service. This means you won’t need to call your carrier to hear messages, as everything will be saved on the device.

Live Voicemail on iOS gives users a live text of what the caller is saying as they leave a message. You can even decide to pick up the call while they’re still speaking. This makes it easier to avoid spam and decide which calls are important. Apple manages all of this on the iPhone itself, without using the network.

Samsung’s version is similar, but for now, it does not support live transcription. However, it offers a different feature that allows users to set the duration before the call goes to voicemail.

According to early code found in One UI 8, Samsung’s Voicemail feature might first launch in a few countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bangladesh. These are regions where traditional voicemail isn’t used much or can be expensive.

The Live Voicemail feature is currently under development for Samsung devices and is not active in the current One UI 8 version. Samsung hasn’t confirmed when it will go live, but it might arrive with the launch of future phones like the Galaxy S26. Stay tuned for more information.

Samsung is actively testing the beta version of its latest software on the Galaxy S25 series, which indicates that a stable update is just around the corner. New information reveals that Samsung is working to improve the Camera app with the upcoming stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S25 lineup.

According to a tipster, Tarunvats, Samsung will enhance the Camera app with the stable One UI 8 update on the Galaxy S25 series. The tipster has reportedly managed to get the stable One UI 8 build, BYG3, on the Galaxy S25 devices.

In this build version, the Samsung Camera app has been upgraded to version 16.0.00.40 from 16.0.00.37 on the Galaxy S25 series. This new update comes with the optimization of the Camera app’s opening and closing animations. It is offering a smoother and more fluid user experience.

This means the company is testing an improved Camera app for the Galaxy S25 series, which will release with a stable One UI 8 update. As the build has been spotted on the testing platform, we can expect more improvements with a stable update.

Samsung has not yet revealed when the One UI 8 update will be available to older devices after stable release with the latest Galaxy foldable phones. But it is expected that the company will release it for the Galaxy S25 series soon.

When the update comes, Galaxy S25 owners can expect a better experience with their Camera app. It will open and close faster with smoother animations. The stable update will not only improve the Camera app but also make the phone work better overall.

Call Captions is a new feature that shows what people are saying during a phone call, in real time. This means while you’re on a call, the phone can display the conversation as text on your screen.

Samsung already had a feature called Call Transcript in One UI 7, but it only worked after the call ended. The new Call Captions feature works live, so you don’t have to wait. It’s especially useful for people who have hearing problems or if you’re in a loud place where it’s hard to hear the other person.

Notably, the Call Captions feature only works with Samsung’s Phone app, not the Google Phone app. So, you’ll need to use Samsung’s dialer to get this feature. The captions also support many different languages, just like Samsung’s live translation tool.

Right now, this feature is only available on the newest foldable phones. But Samsung has confirmed that the company will bring Call Captions to more phones later, after it finishes testing One UI 8 on other models.

This means that more Galaxy device users will be able to enjoy this amazing feature with the One UI 8 update. Currently, the Galaxy S25 series users are testing a new feature through a beta update, and the company is expected to release the update soon. However, the One UI 8 rollout plan hasn’t been revealed by Samsung, but it is expected soon.

A reliable tipster has spotted the first testing build of One UI 8 for the Galaxy S23 FE. The build number is S711BXXU9FYG2, indicating that Samsung has begun working on the update for this model.

Currently, the European variant of the Galaxy S23 FE is being tested with this new software. While it’s still in the testing phase, the appearance of this build suggests that the update could arrive soon.
