Rumor: Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra fixes grainy display without M14 OLED
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra fixes the grainy display issue spotted on S24 Ultra, despite skipping the M14 OLED upgrade. The company is not adopting the most advanced OLED display technology but reportedly fixed a major quality issue.
A rumor suggests that Samsung may equip the Galaxy S25 Ultra with an M13+ panel. The Galaxy S24 Ultra features an M13 panel, that said, the M13+ could be an improved iteration, bringing slight improvements and fixing issues.
The rumor says the M13+ panel will be different from the S24 Ultra’s M13. Samsung fixed the least possibility of a grainy display problem on the Galaxy S25 Ultra – despite skipping the M14 OLED’s adoption debuted with Pixel 9 and iPhone 16.
Additionally, the M13+ screen is said to be more power efficient and have better color production. The content will render with even more vibrant colors on the Galaxy S25 series panel – all without compromising battery performance.
Meanwhile, the panel is unlikely to boost the brightness aspect. Samsung is adopting the M13 panel to avoid cost concerns in the upcoming phones. A recent rumor revealed that the Galaxy S25 series will not get any price increment.
Grainy Display

The quad camera will be featured on the S25 Ultra coming next year. The primary sensor will have a 200-megapixel resolution with intelligent pixel binning tech and OIS.
The zoom cameras would include a 50-megapixel periscope and a 10-megapixel telephoto. The former will offer 5x optical zoom and the latter will support 3x optical zoom shots.

The front camera remains the same as the S24 Ultra – 12-megapixel sensor. Landscape photography will improve significantly thanks to the inclusion of a new 50-megapixel ultrawide lens.

Genuine leaks suggest that the battery capacity and charging speed aspects of the Galaxy S25 Ultra will remain the same as the past three generations – S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, and S24 Ultra.

Samsung may launch the Galaxy S25 Ultra on January 22, 2025. Korea’s FNNews and leaker MaxJambor claimed that the Galaxy Unpacked may be held on the suggested date in the US.
The company may start teasing the Galaxy Unpacked in early January next year. Pre-reservations may also start with the first teaser, with pre-orders starting on the same day as Galaxy Unpacked.
