After ditching Samsung, Google plans Apple peer Tensor by TSMC for Pixel 10, 11

TSMC will produce the next-gen Tensor chipsets for Google Pixel 10 and beyond. Starting with the original Tensor, Samsung Foundry manufactured chipsets for Google until this year’s launch of the Pixel 9 series’ Tensor G4.

Recently, AndroidAuthority revealed a Tensor roadmap covering key info on Pixel 10 and Pixel 11’s chipsets. Google is reportedly planning Apple iPhone equivalent chipset strategy for future Pixel smartphone releases.

Tensor G5 (Pixel 10)

The Tensor G5’s CPU (TSMC’s N3E node) could use the Arm Cortex-X4 the same as the Tensor G4. However, the next Tensor will have a 1+5+2 with five performance/middle Cortex-A725 (from A720) and two Cortex-A520.

Besides 14% better TPU, the processor is said to use a new GPU made by Imagination Technologies. It is reported to be a similar chipset that Apple used in the past. It will bring ray tracing and GPU virtualization for accelerated graphics to the Pixel 10 series.

Tensor G6 (Pixel 11)

Key specs of Google Pixel 11’s potential Tensor G6 chipset have also been revealed. The chip is codenamed “Malibu” and is expected to be fabricated using the TSMC N3P process having a 1+6 core configuration.

Tensor G6 could feature unannounced Arm X5 (Cortex-X930) and Cortex-A730 cores. It’s a move similar to Qualcomm’s approach with Snapdragon 8 Elite. A newer Imagination Technologies GPU  could also be paired with 15% less power consumption.

Samsung Foundry is facing issues with yield rate, leading it to face major drawbacks. The company failed to attract major clients for contract chip production. Google also switched Samsung with TSMC for future Tensor chipsets.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge phone’s selfie camera details pop up online as we approach the tentative debut in May. The device is almost confirmed to share the same selfie camera specs as the other three models of the S25 lineup.

Regulatory database allegedly revealed the selfie camera specs of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The device would have a 1/32-inch sensor with 12-megapixel resolution. It’s most likely to be the same sensor as utilized by the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The Galaxy S25 lineup’s selfie camera produces stunning selfie shots and videos. The sensor is greatly optimized with One UI. Samsung bringing a 12MP selfie snapper to the S25 Edge reiterates its intention to prefer mature hardware.

With the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung replaced the 40-megapixel solution with a new 12-megapixel one. It sounds a downgrade, but practically, the new 12-megapixel shooter offers better quality shots and it’s integrated with AI, too.

Recently, a leaked image showcased the hardware map of the S25 Edge. The phone will have dual cameras on the back, two microphones (each on the top and the bottom), a USB Type-C port for charging and audio output, as well as other stuff.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be introduced on May 13 in South Korea. Following the initial reveal, the South Korean tech giant is likely to bring the S25 Edge to the Global market and the USA by the end of next month.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

A new leak shows off the full hardware layout of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. The image probably belongs to the user manual, which will be available post-official debut. Unsurprisingly, Samsung’s keeping the 3.5mm headphone jack, avoiding.

Leaked Samsung image showcases Galaxy S25 Edge phone’s hardware and port layout. The picture reveals the phone has two microphones, a total of 3 camera sensors, an LED flashlight, a USB Type-C port, volume keys, and a side button.

  • Upper side – Secondary microphone
  • Bottom – SIM card tray, Primary microphone, USB/Charging/Audio Port, and Speaker
  • Right – Volume rockers and side key
  • Rear – Dual camera with LED flash
  • Front – Selfie camera

Well, no one has even thought of a 3.5mm headphone jack in the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, it’s another time we remember the iconic smartphone feature. The image highlights that the Type-C port can be used for audio output as well.

The smartphone may get Ceramic protection rather than Glass. The company aims to retain the durability while reducing the thickness of the Galaxy S25 Edge, in which the new Ceramic material is expected to play a key role.

Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Date

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S25 Edge in South Korea next month. The initial reveal is likely on May 23, with the Global and US debut may happen later next month.

The Galaxy S25 Edge reportedly falls between the S25 Plus and S25 Ultra in terms of pricing. Paired with 12GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, it will be available in 256GB and 512GB models.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 to crush competition in foldable thinness

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 may break foldable thinness records, a new leak suggests. The company is preparing to introduce the next-gen foldable phones in July, while new leaks give us a glimpse at what’s coming this year.

According to TechManiacs, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 may be just 8.2mm thick. The report doesn’t specify the unfolded thickness, which was rumored to be nearly 4.5mm in a handful of leaks and reports over the past few weeks.

With this striking dimension, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is going to crush the foldable thinness competition. Oppo Find N5 is 8.9mm thin and leads the competition in terms of sleekness, but not much time is left for the device to keep the crown.

Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Although it was a limited release, the device has significantly helped the company to experiment with a slimmer design, ultimately paving the way for mainstream models.

Apart from thinness, the Galaxy Z Fold7 may get slightly larger displays. The device is likely to boast an 8-inch inner and a 6.5-inch cover screen. To recall, the Fold6 has a 7.6-inch main and 6.3-inch outer display panel.

The information comes from a credible source but remains unofficial. Samsung will officially reveal the devices in July this year. So for now, you all incredible Samsung fans should take this information with a pinch of salt.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra Comparison

Samsung’s One UI 7 update, rolling out this month, brings new features to Galaxy devices. However, Galaxy S24 and S25 users report significant battery drain issues, raising concerns about the update’s impact on performance.

April 2025 update brings smoother animations, enhanced AI tools, and improved security to Galaxy devices. While these changes aimed to elevate user experience, some Galaxy S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra owners noticed a sharp decline in battery life.

Robin noticed that the battery’s performance has sharply declined on his S25 Ultra after the April 2025 update. He figured out a battery life decline of approximately 20%, leading him to seek feedback on X to verify the difference.

Surprisingly, this sentiment echoes across social platforms, with users frustrated by the reduced performance.

A Galaxy S24 Ultra owner commented, “Before, I charged once per day. Now I’m charging two to three times per day”. Another Galaxy S24 user noted that while design and AI improved, battery life suffered significantly.

Similar complaints surfaced from other users. One S24 user stated, “After the One UI 7.0 update, the battery drains faster”. It seems the Galaxy S24 FE is also affected by a possible bug, with the user reporting “battery drains fast after the April update”.
