Galaxy Watch 5 just got better with 8th One UI 6 Watch Beta!
Samsung rolling out the 8th One UI 6 Watch Beta to the Galaxy Watch 5 series. The rollout has kicked off in South Korea as we anticipate the Stable update. The new Beta should also be available for the Galaxy Watch 4 series soon.
It isn’t the 8th release for the Watch 5 series but includes the content of the 8th One UI 6 Watch Beta of the Galaxy Watch 6 series. The Beta Program expanded to older watches weeks after the Watch 6, hence those models got fewer updates.
Installing the latest One UI 6 Watch Beta on your Watch 5 or Watch 5 Pro will make significant improvements. The watch’s functional stability and system performance will be elevated, taking the performance to the next level.
The release also fixes battery-related issues that will result in improved battery performance. As the consumption will be optimized, you can expect a slightly longer battery life. You will be able to use your watch for longer between charges.
Last but not least, LTE models getting fixes for network interoperability issues. Since the Bluetooth variant solely relies on paired phones, those models have nothing to do with it. However, it’s a must welcomed improvement for LTE watch owners.
- Improved system stability and optimized system performance
- Improved consumption current issue of battery
- Improved the issue of network interoperability
Head towards the Galaxy Wearable application to install the update. If you’ve enrolled in the Beta Program, you should have got the newer build. We expect the Stable update will start rolling out to consumers by November this year.

While this release is still some time away, early signs of the performance improvements in One UI 7 have already surfaced for the Samsung Galaxy S23.
A recent Geekbench listing of the base model of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series running Android 15 and One UI 7 shows impressive benchmark scores. The device achieved 2109 in single-core and 5555 in multi-core tests.
