Android Auto users get hazard reporting feature in the US

One UI 7 Android Auto issue

Google has rolled out a hazard reporting feature for Android Auto in the US, which was previously available for Google Maps on Apple CarPlay. The new update brings the ability to report road incidents directly from their car screens for Android Auto users.

This long-awaited update allows drivers to quickly share important information without having to use their phones. It notifies others about accidents, traffic jams, and even speed traps in real time.

Before this update, drivers could only report issues using the Google Maps app on their phones. While the Waze app along with Google Maps on Apple CarPlay already had this feature, Android Auto users felt left out.

Now, with the new Android Auto update, drivers will see a triangle-shaped hazard button below the compass on the Google Maps display in their cars. By tapping this button, they can report things like traffic jams, lane closures, and crashes.

Moreover, the app provides prompts during navigation to confirm the status of reported incidents. Notably, the hazard button might not show up if the Android Auto layout doesn’t have enough screen space for Google Maps. Some users have reported about the visibility of it.

Despite this limitation, the hazard reporting feature of Android Auto users helps drivers communicate important information about road conditions to make journeys safer. As more Android Auto users get this feature, the company is expected to enhance it in the coming days.

Samsung Home Up One UI 7

If you’re using a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, Flip6, or Tab S10, you might have noticed that the new One UI 7 Home Up module from Good Lock isn’t available yet.

Originally scheduled for early April, the Home Up module is yet to be rolled out for Galaxy Z Flip6, Z Fold6, and Tab S10 series running One UI 7. The good news? Samsung is close to releasing Home Up for these devices, expected in early next month.

One UI 7’s Home Up is popular for its DIY home screen options and personalized user experience. Until now, Home Up has been limited to the S series, but the demand for Home Up has grown as One UI 7 is now available on various devices.

Samsung’s team has been working to adapt Home Up for foldables and tablets.

For foldables like the Z Fold6 and Flip6, a feature called “Cover Screen Mirroring” is in development to customize the cover display. Tablets like the Tab S10 need support for both landscape and portrait modes, adding complexity.

Samsung initially aimed to release Home Up for foldables and tablets by early April 2025.

However, the current project reveals that it’s still under renewal, with a message saying it “will return soon.” The updated timeline points to early May 2025, as Samsung finalizes the module for One UI 7 compatibility.

With the new Home Up, you will be able to customize home screen layouts, tweak gestures, and use Cover Screen Mirroring on foldables. For tablets, expect a seamless experience in both orientations, enhancing multitasking and personalization.

Samsung Internet in One UI 8 gets massive UI overhaul, you might actually quit Chrome

One UI 8 Samsung Internet

Samsung Internet is testing a huge UI overhaul, probably for the One UI 8 upgrade. The most feature-packed browser app is preparing a brand new design, which could finally convince you to ditch Google’s Chrome browser.

As part of One UI 8, Samsung seems to be tweaking the interface of its native browser app. The new design aligns with previous leaks that elements are adopting a blur design and dynamic colors to make the look pleasing from elegant.

In-development changes of Samsung Internet are inspired by One UI 8 (courtesy of ThatJoshGuy). The new layout applies to the home screen, icon customize section, webpage menu design, and the blur application makes it super cool.

Chrome by Google is the most used web browser app on Android. It gets a significant push as it comes pre-installed with Android devices, however, Samsung Internet could become a pretty big rival to harm Chrome’s dominance.

The home screen integrates a wallpaper as background, which you will be able to change as well. The URL bar is now placed above the quick access toggles, featuring a blurry yet transparent component, which also applies to the Menu.

Expanding the Menu from a webpage nicely displays the blur engine in action. It’s kind of the same we’ve seen earlier in the wallpaper selection UI. The toggles have got visibility improvement, and the blurred overlay takes the visibility to a whole new level.

While the One UI 7 rollout has just begun, Samsung is already working on the next big upgrade. Pushed by Google, the Android 16-based One UI 8 is expected to debut with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 in early July this year.

One UI 8 Beta Program might launch earlier than One UI 7’s December timeframe. That said, we can expect the Stable update for older Galaxy devices later this year. The Galaxy S26 series is rumored to launch with One UI 8.5 version.

One UI 7 AOD notification settings

Samsung has released a new update for its Always On Display (AOD) app with version 8.8.43.2. The update comes with a few helpful bug fixes that will make the app work better for users.

Always On Display is a useful feature that shows the time, date, battery level, and other information on the screen even when your phone is locked. This makes it easy to quickly check your phone without having to turn it on fully. The fresh update makes the app better by fixing bugs, spotted by a reliable tipster @Theordysm.

With the latest update, Samsung has fixed an issue related to the Nowbar Naver Sports feature. Some users were facing errors while using it with AOD, but this issue has now been fixed, so everything should run smoothly.

Moreover, the clock settings on the cover screen have also been improved. This is especially helpful for people using foldable phones. Before, there were some errors in clock settings on the small front screen, but Samsung has now solved this.

Also, the update has an issue with widgets. Sometimes, when users selected a theme for AOD, the widgets like weather or music controls didn’t appear in the right place. This update corrects that, so the layout looks neat and works properly.

While the Samsung Always On Display 8.8.43.2 update doesn’t add any new features, it helps make the app more stable and user-friendly. The update is being released gradually, so if you haven’t seen it yet, it should be available soon.
