Samsung Galaxy S26: Performance revolution on the horizon
Samsung Galaxy S25 will launch, but rumors of 2026 flagships are already surfacing. The latest rumor suggests that the Galaxy S26 will usher in a whole new era of performance and efficiency.
According to the rumor, the Galaxy S26 will use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (8 Elite 2) chip. Qualcomm could source the production from TSMC and Samsung Foundry on their latest process nodes.
Next year’s Snapdragon chip could be manufactured using TSMC’s second-gen 3nm and Samsung Foundry’s 2nm process – returning to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-like dual-sourcing strategy.
Weibo leaker Undead claims that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 could feature two performance cores running at a clock speed as fast as 5GHz and six efficiency cores peaking at 4GHz.
These CPU speeds could only be available in the Snapdragon manufactured by TSMC. However, Samsung Foundry’s Snapdragon could have different clock speeds.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 features Qualcomm’s homegrown Oryon CPU cores. It has two main cores running at a clock speed of up to 4.37GHz along with six efficiency cores at up to 2.8GHz.
As Exynos isn’t doing well, Samsung could make some major changes in its Foundry business. The company could develop Snapdragon chips to be used in Galaxy phones at its own Foundry.
The generational difference in the process could give Samsung’s variant a marginal lead. Despite having an underclocked CPU, the “for Galaxy” variant could offer better performance and efficiency.
Samsung Galaxy A54 5G smartphone has started receiving the latest October 2024 security update, which installs the fresh Android patch to boost security and stability. The update arrives with a One UI build version A546BXXSACXI3.
October 2024 security update is rolling out with some important fixes from Google and Samsung. Google has patched 2 critical and 28 high-level issues, 1 was already resolved and 2 don’t apply to Galaxy devices.

Users of Samsung Galaxy A54 smartphones are getting an October 2024 security update in Europe and the company will soon make it available in other countries. The installation package size of this update is around 277MB.

Notably, the next One UI 7 update will be debuted with the Galaxy S25 series while the beta program will open for developers at the end of this year.

At the earnings forecast, Samsung issued a public apology for disappointing performance. Now, a report suggests that Samsung could shake up the working staff of its Chip Division to foster competitiveness and growth.
Per KoreaTimes, Samsung may soon reshuffle its Chip Division operations. The company’s DS Division is on the radar of top executives, which oversees chip business. Samsung’s position is in danger as a chipmaker due to Foundry concerns.
Samsung is reportedly planning a regular personnel reshuffle in November this year. This time, major changes could be seen in the senior executive ranks. A layoff is also in the pipeline, aimed at cutting jobs in the marketing division.
Lee Jae-yong will mark his second anniversary as the head of Samsung on October 27. Market attention is now on how he will respond to the existing concerns and set a new course for the tech giant to ensure sustainable growth.
Samsung’s Lee could instruct the reduction of executives within the DS Division. In addition, several president-level technology officials overseeing the memory and foundry businesses could also be replaced with new talents to ensure growth.
Before the reshuffle, the Korean tech giant is thoroughly reviewing key business divisions to streamline underperforming areas, enhance competitiveness in memory chips, and improve communication between research and manufacturing teams.
DS Division is in crisis due to lower-than-expected profits despite the booming AI market. The company’s memory chip research and AI processor efforts are not paying off, requiring the need for an interception and transition.
Samsung has released a new update for the Gallery app, now available on the Galaxy Store with version 15.5.01.5. The update brings improvements to the app’s performance along with some fixes for issues users experienced in the previous version.
After updating to One UI 6.1.1, many Samsung users were facing issues with the Gallery album feature. When users tried to open specific photos in the Gallery app, the album would disappear and their photos would not be visible. Instead of the photos appearing, the album itself disappeared
Samsung acknowledged the issue and promised to fix it in a future update. Now, with the release of this new Gallery app update, it is expected that the album visibility problem will be resolved.
While the update’s changelog does not provide specific details about which bugs have been fixed, it is widely expected that the disappearing album bug will be addressed.
