Samsung has already rolled out the latest security patch for the Galaxy S21 series in Europe and the US. Now, the company is expanding the September 2024 security update to Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones in the Middle East.
The fresh update improves system security and stability to provide a better Galaxy experience. It also fixes over 65 security issues to boost your phone’s performance.
Notably, the update addresses 1 critical issue and 43 high-level ones. One of these issues was already fixed in earlier updates, and another one doesn’t impact Galaxy devices. Along with Google’s patches, Samsung is adding 23 of its own fixes to improve security in My Files, Theme Center, One UI Home, Knox, and Dex.
Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones are getting the September 2024 security update in the Middle East with One UI build version G991BXXSCGXH7, G996BXXSCGXH7, and G998BXXSCGXH7 respectively. The installation package size of this update is around 255.28MB.
To access the latest update on your Samsung Galaxy S21, go to the Settings app, tap on Software Update, and then select Download and Install. This will initiate the update process, and once completed, you’ll enjoy a more personalized and efficient smartphone experience.

You may have heard about Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ achievement of successfully developing ultra-small all-solid-state batteries. These batteries replace flammable liquid electrolytes with solid ones, enhancing safety and reducing many risks.
Apart from Samsung, a North American firm is also said to be working on pure silicon batteries. This technology only uses silicon for the anode as part of promising significantly increased battery life and reduced charging times.

The Korean tech giant recently announced the successful development of oxide-based ultra-small all-solid-state batteries. Samsung has also supplied prototypes to key customers for evaluation before commercializing into consumer products.
Notably, Samsung is the world’s first firm that has achieved the milestone of developing ultra-small all-solid-state batteries. As mass production is expected in 2026, we assume the Galaxy Watch 9 series could boast new all-solid-state batteries.
All-solid-state batteries are cells, which replace liquid electrolytes with non-flammable solids. Samsung is pushing for applications in wearable devices that closely adhere to the body, such as smartwatches and earbuds.

Samsung rolls out October 2024 update to Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6
Samsung has pushed the October 2024 security update for its Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 devices. The update is initially available for these devices’ users in Europe and the US, with plans to expand to other regions soon.
The new update enhances system security and stability by addressing various issues to improve overall device performance. The latest security patch includes critical updates from both Google and Samsung.
Notably, Google’s patch resolves 2 critical vulnerabilities and 28 high-level issues, although one of these issues was previously addressed, and two do not apply to Galaxy devices.
On the other side, 12 Samsung vulnerabilities have been fixed which are related to system services and Knox to ensure a more secure user experience. Additionally, Samsung Semiconductor has also added a fix to boost performance.

To manually check for updates, users can navigate to their phone’s Settings, scroll to the Software Update section, and select the “Download and Install” option if a new OTA is available.
Both the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 come pre-installed with Android 14 based on One UI 6.1.1. These foldable devices are set to receive the next major One UI update, expected to be available to developers by year’s end.
A community moderator revealed that a One UI 7 Beta program will soon be accessible to regular Galaxy users. However, details regarding eligible devices and schedules are yet to be confirmed.
