Samsung’s Galaxy S25 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could beat Apple iPhone 16’s A18 and A18 Pro SoCs in CPU and GPU performance. In the latest reveal, the performance benchmarks of Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon floated online.
IceUniverse leaked out alleged OnePlus 13‘s Geekbench scores that use Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The benchmark suggests a groundbreaking development in the Android world. The next flagships will challenge Apple’s decent chip segment.

Apple recently launched the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro lineups. The new iPhones are equipped with new A18 and A18 Pro, respectively. The leaked Geekbench score of OnePlus 13 apparently outpaced both Apple chipsets.
The iPhone 16’s A18 scored 3018 single-core and 7751 multi-core points. Apple’s A18 Pro used in iPhone 16 Pro models reaches 3114 and 6666 points on Geekbench 6’s single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
In the same benchmark, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 scored 3236 and 10049 points, respectively, in the Geekbench 6 CPU benchmark. The scores will likely increase further with software optimization and go beyond expectations when used in Galaxy S25.

Qualcomm will offer Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy to Samsung. The Galaxy S25 lineup is expected to get a slightly better variant of the next Snapdragon. Paired with One UI, the performance could surpass A18 Pro by a huge margin.
Apple A18: It’s a 6-core chipset, which is used in Apple’s iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. The processor is manufactured using a 3-nanometer process technology. It has 2 cores at 3780 MHz and 4 cores at 2000 MHz.
Apple A18 Pro: Powering the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, the A18 Pro is a 6-core SoC. Similar to A18 and A17 Pro, it is fabricated using a 3nm process node. It flaunts 2 cores at 3890 MHz and 4 cores at 2200 MHz.

Samsung One UI Home gets a refresh with performance boost
Samsung has released a new update for the One UI Home app with version 15.5.05.17. This update brings improvements to enhance your experience on Galaxy devices.
With this update, users will notice a smoother home screen and better overall performance. It fixes some minor bugs that may have been causing issues to make navigation easier and more enjoyable.
Through this update, Samsung aims to provide a seamless experience for Home screen functions. It is available with an installation package size of around 28MB.

Samsung’s AI influencer SAM challenges gamers at BGS
Samsung announced its AI influencer SAM will participate in the BGS (Brazil Game Show) 2024. BGS is the largest videogame event in Latin America. The event this set to take place from October 9th to 13th in São Paulo, Brazil.
SAM will be available for visitors letting them interact with it through various activities and actions. Adding to this, the AI influencer will be present in various modalities at the Samsung booth during the fair.

At the Watch Out game, SAM will compete alongside gamers. Developed with machine learning technology, Samsung’s Watch Out uses advanced artificial intelligence to work with intelligent agents trained to simulate SAM’s actions in real-time.
During the game, competitors must dodge obstacles and collect as many Galaxy Rings as possible to win. Later, SAM reacts to the player’s actions, offering a direct interaction experience between gamers and their 3D avatar.

BGS visitors can enjoy Watch Out on the main stage at the Samsung Booth. Games will be played during the intervals of the stage attractions, allowing the audience to compete in quick matches of up to three minutes.
Depending on their performance in the game, participants will be able to take home exclusive SAM items, such as sweatshirts, mousepads, and pins. It’s pretty interactive activity that the Korean tech giant has prepared for its consumers in Latin America.
