Samsung is getting ready to make mornings more enjoyable for users by adding YouTube Music support to its Clock app. This integration will allow you to choose your favorite YouTube Music songs as your alarm.

At the moment, if you’re using the Samsung Clock app, you can set a song from Spotify as your alarm. However, it looks like Samsung is planning to give YouTube Music users the same option. To use this feature, you’ll need a YouTube Music Premium subscription.

In the APK teardown of YouTube Music version 8.06.51, a well-known tipster, Assembledebug (via AndroidAuthority), has spotted some codes. These new codes hinted at a link between YouTube Music and the Samsung Clock app.

Further exploration into the Samsung Clock app by the AssembleDebug has confirmed the presence of several code strings referring to this integration. These codes indicate that the feature is actively being developed.

If this feature is released, you’ll be able to choose between Spotify or YouTube Music to wake you up. This would make Samsung’s Clock app more useful and fun for alarms.

Samsung Home Up V16: What’s New in One UI 7 for Home Screen Customization

Samsung has started rolling out a new icon for its Find app, which was first introduced with One UI 7, to Galaxy devices running One UI 6.1.1. This indicates that Samsung is getting older devices ready for the next big software update.

The updated icon matches the design changes seen in One UI 7, but it’s now making its way to devices with One UI 6.1.1. While the icon was initially spotted in Android 15-based One UI 7, Samsung is now offering it to older versions of the software.

A Reddit user spotted the new icon on their Find app and also noticed it in the app’s listing in the Galaxy Store. However, the icon hadn’t shown up on their device yet, which suggests that Samsung is giving users a sneak peek of One UI 7 on One UI 6.1.1 running Galaxy devices.

This rollout is happening gradually through a server-side update, meaning users will see the new icon at different times. For example, testing on a Galaxy S23 with One UI 6.1.1 still shows the old icon, but an update to the app is available. Once the server-side update is complete, the new icon should appear.

While the icon change may seem small, it’s a sign that Samsung is preparing for the wider One UI 7 rollout on older devices. Talking about that new icon, the color scheme stays the same with white, dark, and light blue shades but it has a sharper tip location symbol. The tip is more defined, there’s a circle instead of a spread-out triangle in One UI 7.

Aside from this, recent leaks suggest that the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 might arrive in March 2025. At the moment, the company reportedly getting ready to release the One UI 7 Beta 4 update.

One UI 7’s Samsung Find app surfaced with new look and features

Samsung SmartTags are popular trackers for Samsung device users, but until now, their functionality is limited to Galaxy devices. For that, uTag comes in to bring support. This app lets you use Samsung SmartTag features with any Android device, even if it’s not a Galaxy phone.

The uTag (spotted by MishalRahman) is an app similar to Samsung’s SmartThings Find feature, which helps you locate and track your SmartTags. With uTag, you can see where your tag is, make it ring, change its ringtone, and more.

Moreover, the app even supports precision finding, a feature that shows you exactly where your tag is if your phone has ultra-wideband (UWB) support, which Google’s Find My Device network still doesn’t offer.

The app also gives you alerts when a SmartTag is traveling with you, notifies you if a tag is left behind or found, and lets you share tags with family. In addition, you can check the location history of your tags. It’s a great way to keep track of your items.

To make uTag work, you need to install a special version of the SmartThings app. This is because the official SmartThings app only works on Samsung phones, but the patched version allows uTag to connect. You will need to sign into your Samsung account twice, once in SmartThings and again in uTag.
