Samsung’s Exynos 2500 could power Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7
Samsung could consider using Exynos 2500 in Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The company is eyeing continuous dominance in the AI Phone era. To retain the crown, Samsung could exclusively use Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in the Galaxy S25 series.
Hankyung reports that Samsung Foundry’s 3nm process is progressing smoothly. There are reports of yield issues, resulting in potential challenges in the S25 series. That said, the next year’s foldable phones (or the Flip) could use Exynos 2500.
Samsung’s System LSI reportedly designed the Exynos 2500 chip. However, the company’s Foundry division is responsible for packaging and production. The chip is officially confirmed to utilize the cutting-edge 3nm process technology.
Apple also introduced artificial intelligence in mobile products. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max already testing select features in Beta. Besides, the iPhone 16 lineup with iOS 18 and AI is all set to be officially launched on September 9.
To keep Exynos alive, the DS Division could focus on improving the 3nm yield. The company executives believe that it is important to solidify the foundation of the sub-3nm cutting-edge foundry process and secure competitiveness.
Samsung has just launched the new foldable phones internationally. Both models use a Snapdragon chipset to maintain an edge in performance. Exynos 2400 was also rumored to be utilized in the Galaxy Z Flip 6, but it didn’t happen.
The company’s 2H25 launch event is too far right now. Also, the Galaxy S25 series isn’t coming anytime soon as a tentative unveiling could take place in January next year. There might be changes in strategy as nothing has finalized such early.
