WhatsApp introduces Passkeys to unlock your encrypted backups

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update with version 2.24.18.13 for Android through the Google Play Beta Program. This WhatsApp beta update brings a fresh and useful feature called passkeys for encrypted backups.
The new passkey feature makes accessing your encrypted backups easier and more secure. It will use biometric methods, such as fingerprints or facial recognition, to unlock your backups. This means you won’t need to remember or type in complex passwords anymore.
Currently, WhatsApp lets you protect your backups with either a custom password or a long 64-digit encryption key. While these processes are very secure, they can be hard to remember. That’s why WhatsApp is introducing the new passkey feature, which uses easy-to-use biometric authentication.
Instead of dealing with and remembering lengthy passwords, you’ll be able to quickly and securely access your backups using your biometric data. This makes managing your backups simpler and reduces the chances of being locked out due to forgotten passwords.
Notably, the passkey itself will be securely stored in a password manager with an extra layer of convenience and security. WhatsApp passkeys feature for backups is currently in development and will be available in a future update. Stay tuned for more information.
WhatsApp may soon let you edit album caption within 15 minutes

WhatsApp has released a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, which introduces the ability to edit the album caption. The beta update arrives for Android devices with the app version 2.25.3.12 through the Google Play Beta Program.
Right now, once you send an album on WhatsApp, you can’t edit the caption. This is because albums are managed separately from single media messages. With single messages, you can edit the caption after sending, but albums don’t have that option. If you make a mistake in the caption or forget something important, you have to delete and resend the whole album.
However, WhatsApp is working on a solution to this. With upcoming updates, users will be able to edit their album captions within 15 minutes of sending. This means if you make a mistake or need to add more information, you won’t have to resend the entire album.
With the edit album caption feature, you can just fix the caption instead of resending it. This feature will make it easier to correct any errors quickly.

This feature will be mainly useful in group chats or shared media, where captions provide important context for the photos or videos. The ability to quickly modify captions will help avoid confusion and ensure that media shared within the app is more accurate and meaningful.
The Edit album caption isn’t available yet but WhatsApp is actively working on it. This feature will be included in a future update for Android users. Stay tuned for more information.
WhatsApp now lets you create events in individual chats

WhatsApp has released a new update for Android users, with version 2.25.3.6 through the Google Play Beta Program. The update brings a brand-new feature that lets you create and share events on WhatsApp in individual chats.
Until now, this event feature was only available in group chats and now it’s expanding to individual conversations. This feature makes it even easier to organize personal plans.
With this new WhatsApp feature, you can schedule events, set reminders, and share event details directly in your individual chats. Whether it’s a meeting, an appointment, or just a casual get-together, you can now plan it all without leaving WhatsApp. It means no more endless back-and-forth messages or the need to use separate apps to set up your schedule.
For example, if you’re discussing a deadline with a colleague, you can now create an event with the date and time, and both of you will get reminders. Or if you’re arranging an appointment with a doctor, you can set the date and time right in the chat. The event details are shared with both people in the conversation, so everyone stays on the same page.
You can also add a location for in-person meetings or link the event to a video or audio call for virtual meetings. In addition, recipients can accept or decline the event, which helps keep communication clear.
This feature is now available to some beta testers and will be rolled out to more users soon. Stay tuned for more information.
Latest WhatsApp Beta fixes emoji keyboard and chat bar issues
Latest WhatsApp Beta fixes emoji keyboard and chat bar issues

WhatsApp has released a new beta update for Android users, which addresses annoying issues that affected the chat bar and emoji keyboard functionality. The fresh update arrives with version 2.25.3.4 via the Google Play Beta Program.
Users of the previous beta update experienced issues where the chat bar would incorrectly appear beneath the emoji keyboard. This issue makes it difficult to quickly return to typing after selecting emojis.
With this latest update, WhatsApp has resolved the issue to ensure that the chat bar stays in its correct position when switching between the emoji keyboard and the text input area. This fix restores a smooth and seamless experience for users, which improves the overall chat functionality.
In addition to the bug fix, WhatsApp has been developing a welcome screen for the AI-powered chatbot tab. This feature will guide users on how to use AI chatbots within the app.
Users should be aware that bugs and glitches are part of the testing process. It’s always recommended to back up chat history before updating. If you are facing issues with the chat bar and emoji keyboard functionality, install the latest WhatsApp beta update now.

New WhatsApp feature lets you control chat animation playback for GIFs, emojis, and stickers

WhatsApp has released a new beta update for Android, which brings an exciting feature called Chat Animation. This new option lets users control the animations of emojis, stickers, and GIFs in their chats.
Users can identify the latest Whatsapp Beta update for Android via version 2.25.1.10, available through the Google Play Beta Program. This feature is currently under development and is expected to be available in a future update.
The Chat Animation option for WhatsApp allows users to manage animations separately for emojis, stickers, and GIFs. This feature includes three toogles for Emoji stickers and GIFs to control animations individually.
It means you can choose to stop animated emojis from moving automatically or keep animated stickers from playing unless you tap on them. Similarly, GIFs will only animate when you click on them, instead of playing by themselves.

The fresh change aims to help users who find constant animations distracting or annoying. Some people might prefer a quieter, less animated chat experience, while others may enjoy more movement. With this new option, users can customize their chats to suit their personal preferences.
Previously, WhatsApp introduced the plan of stopping autoplay for animated images. The current update proceeds with that idea by offering more specific controls to allow users to manage emojis, stickers, and GIFs separately.
As of now, it is being tested by limited users through the WhatsApp Beta program. Once fully ready, it will be rolled out to everyone in a future update. Keep an eye out for more details.
